• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. I was thinking about installing a "cat delete" on my 2014 RT. ... for those that have already installed it... would you mind giving your opinions on it ?

Very first Mod I did within a month of having the RT. Simple install. The toughest part is hooking up the springs without spring tools. The inside one is the hardest.

Depends..!

you will have a change in the tone of your exhaust. You will drop a considerable amount in lb's and reduce a lot of heat under there. But you are fine leaving it in. The 1330's don't have heat issues but it sure sounds sweet without it...see if thats what you want or if there are other mods that you would like...

I am thinking about doing it but I just put on a Two Bros. exhaust during Spyderfest. The paint on the end of the exhaust pipe burned off the first day and I inquired about this with Two Bros. They said this wasn't normal and they wanted to know if I had done the cat delete. They said that would be a no no with their exhaust. So, for now, I am leaving my cat on until I get to the bottom of the lean condition on my 14 RT

It will have a small backfire when shifting gears until the engine warms up. It will also have a little more sound to it.

I did it on my 14. Like they said a little deeper sound. Other than that can not tell any difference in performance. The key to the springs is to install the hardest one to get too first you can move the bypass around to get it on.

Have both

Ann I have both bypass and 2 bros exhaust....20k+ miles and no issues....I feel that combination has increased my MPG as well as never lack for power, even pulling trailer. :dontknow::dontknow:

Pit bull deleted CAT on both my 2013 and recently my 2014 at Spyderfest. More sound on the 998 of course but a real nice deep sound on the 1330. I will not be changing mufflers. Might have improved performance a bit also plus got rid of a lot of useless weight. No emission checks here in Arizona so that is no worry.

Sound improves on 1330 after warm up and driving several miles. Not sure why. auto remapping?? No back firing on the 1330 also.

Would I do it again? Yes

Len at Pitbull also traded a new standard windshield for my vented windshield which I was not fond of at all. Thanks Len!

I have funds burning a hole in my pocket. Please post the link for a cat delete. I assume we are talking new header to the muffler connection?

I have dyno time scheduled next week to get a base line on my stock 2015 RT

Has anybody posted a video with sound, of a 1330 with just the catalytic converter removed? :dontknow:

We made a video of our machine, 2014 with the Lamonster cat bypass installed. Took it out on a Saturday morning a few weeks ago, and riding two up captured about 20 minutes worth of riding to a local long straight stretch of road.

Had the video aimed at the tach / speedometer so everyone could hear the the sound at different rpm, speeds and gear selected.

Sadly, when I played it back, the engine noise, was louder than the exhaust. The microphone was placed where a GPS would mount on the bars. Need to do it again, and place the microphone in a backpack.

The F3 with cat delete gives more sound more rumble than the 1330 on the RT not sure why but I have both and can tell the difference

The stock muffler on the RT is much quieter than the stock one on the F3. Once the primary muffler is gone, they sing very different tunes.

Noticed the same thing Hal. The F3 with the bypass pipe and the stock muffler is still louder than the '14 RT with the bypass pipe and the Two Brothers SR1 muffler. Expected the opposite. Do love them both though. This is the RT with the Two Brothers exhaust and the bypass pipe.
