There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Carrying Concealed

Ok fyi just got email from biker bud:) enjoy

GOT MY CONCEALED CARRY PERMIT YESTERDAY

In the afternoon, I went over to the local Bass Pro Shop to get a small 9mm handgun for home/personal protection.

When I was ready to pay for the pistol and ammo, the cashier said, "Strip down, facing me."

Making a mental note to complain to the NRA about the gun control wackos running amok, I did just as she had instructed.

When the hysterical shrieking and alarms finally subsided, I found out she was referring to how I should place my credit card in the card reader!!!

As an intelligent senior citizen, I do not get flustered often. But this time, it took me a while to get my pants back on.

I've been asked to shop elsewhere in the future. They need to make their instructions to seniors a little more clear.

I still don't think I looked that bad!

I will say this: I try to avoid areas where trouble can occur, but that is not always possible. I have been trying to come up with some "goodies".
I have two items of interest for personal protection in the works. One is a means to carry concealed and have access right at hand and the other is a non lethal force option. I'll post more when we get things ready! I am especially excited about the non-lethal option.

Doc, you wrote this waaaaaaay back on Feb. 5! Any update?

Anyone own or shot Springfield XD Mod.2 9mm? I shot one today at the range. Now I am thinking of purchasing one for concealed carry and home defense.

Any feedback?

Springfield Armory makes some pretty decent firearms. My buddies and I swap them around at the range, and those handguns are always the ones that everyone wants to try.
They shoot accurately, and are comfortable to carry!
I'm not the biggest fan of the 9mm. Ins a home defense situation; you'd better make sure that you've got it stuffed full of the right ammo... Over-penetration can be a problem... nojoke Ideally; you want the projectile to stay inside it's intended target...

Bob...can't you use 9mm like the below for home defense?

When it comes to the 9mm offerings; I've always looked for a projectile that'll expand reliably, and dump all of it's energy into the intended target...
Since I "brew my own bullets"; I can tailor my loads to do what I want them to...
Truthfully; I'm far more a fan of the .45 ACP... :D
Fat and Slow; works just fine!

I keep a 9mm close by at home. Loaded with Liberty Home Defense 9mm+P. I carry a Bersa Thunder Ultra Compact .40 loaded with Federal HST S&W 165 grain hollow point. My drop gun is a Taurus PT22. My wife just got her CCW. Will probably get her a S&W 442. She has problems racking the slide on an auto so the 442 will be fine for her.

Those Taurus PT 22s might work well for her; the tip-up barrel makes loading a breeze!
(Just don't EVER dry-fire it; not unless you've already got a spare firing pin in your pocket!)

Bob, I've got a Taurus PLY-22, if I use ammo hot enough to cycle the slide, it breaks, I'm looking at a Beretta Bobcat, in .22.

The Missus carries a Minx, in .22 Short... She has never felt under-gunned, because she's confident in her abilities to put all of those rounds where they most need to be put...nojoke

I open carry when I ride with my Kimber or Para full size .45 ACP. I like to shoot quarters at folks if need be versus a nickle or dime.

I was just given my first 9mm for a retirement gift from my unit after 23 years in the Army. I was talking about getting into 3 gun so they picked this out for me. I havent had a chance to shoot it, but cant wait.
