• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

And what makes you think the spyder on the showroom floor is any better?

I would rather spend the time and send my spyder to BRP on my own cost to have them look at it, research it, fix it , and drive that spyder.. than a spyder that is sitting on a showroom floor that could have other issues.

I'm sure if you give 100% of your time and send the Spyder to them and there is truely a fault, they will cover the expenses. Part of negotiation is agreeing on BOTH sides. Sometimes you have to GIVE a little to get something in return. Bad mouthing the only support contact you have with BRP is going to get you no where man. Man Up.

Do we have anyone on the forums out in MN that could stop by his house and look at the spyder to assist? Damn, I'll even send you some friggin relays for you to replace just so the posts end :) PM me your address and I'll order some on my debit card bro.

This is a recreational vehicle not a Lex or Mercedes...

The way i see it you have two choices 1. wait for carlo to send the tech
2. fight it in court with the lemon law. Now i don't know for sure but i think if Carlo sends a tech down and successfully fixes it you still won't be happy because all you will do is dewll on the fact that it took so long to fix it. I see you live in MN so the odds are you probably are not riding it now (if you could) because of the weather. You have every right to be upset nobody disagrees with you on that. Goodluck to you and i hope it works out the best for you.

We have read all of your posts & really appreciate all your insights & your thoughts & experiences.
Self acclaimed, world most famous can am spyder, the spyder from hell, lemon of all lemons. (endearment - we love our spyder but hate it)
We are really tired of being nice, patient, understanding, being brp's research & development guys, their ginney pig. We have praised Carlo & brp several times for trying to fix our spyder, but we don't think they can. We honestly don't believe they can because they have certainly tried. Also, we are honestly trying to be fair by only asking for the 2009 on the dealers floor and not a brand new 2011.
We are not the only ones having big trouble with brp trying to fix our beloved spyders. Many, many other loyal spyder owners have experienced many of the problems we are fighting brp with now. Check it out yourself & you will see it's not just me. Read hdxbones from CT, 1-22-11. He has been through hell with brp also. We are not crybabies, we are just burned out.
Some of you have glanced through my threads, but, some of you did not seem to comphrend my problems. I am not too smart, only have a ged, and probably not expressing myself properly & am basically a rough, street talking, poor mannered, I would not fit in your cocktail parties. I do fit in most bike rallies, club meetings & garage parties. Just a really, really nice old guy.
I am not the only poor sucker that has serious, unpleasent, shout outs with Carlo & Crystal & brp. I have heard some other owners have hired attorneys & got their money back & some got brand new machines, and many, many other poor people just give up.
I have very nicely tried to explain that in 2009 our spyder spent more than 3 months in the service dept & more than 4 more months 2010 outside in all kinds of weather, in our short prime riding season.
We are more that willing to let brp pick up our spyder (now) & ship it to any southern state so they can have it for the next 3 months to do whatever they want to it now, but, Carlo says no.
He wants to wait 3 to 4 months for it to warm up around here & send their high techs down to ride it & watch me to see if I know how to ride, I think they are looking for an excape goat. I can keep up with the fast cruisers & baggers in the twisties, on 2 or 3 wheelers, plus the fact, I had no problem the first 1000 miles before the first dealer worked on the electrical.
We have been through hell on the spyder from hell. Please don't judge us until you have walked in our shoes for a mile. It's not easy dealing with a night mare like this day in & day out, very stressful. If we don't stand up for our selves, no one will.
It would be so nice to just make my 275 monthly payments, wash my spyder, waxed it & just ride it. That's what we signed up for.
I won't give up, I won't go away, I won't quit, I'm in this until the end.
I have not yet begun to fight.

Earlier in this thread, you explained your point of view. Subsequently, I explained mine. Obviously, my BRP experience was different than yours. I wasn't, however, rude to you, as you are to others.

Much like the cowering little dog that hides behind the couch and nips at unsuspecting visitors heels when they're not looking, isn't it nice how the internet lets you hide behind your keyboard and do the same.......

If you'd like to discuss our differences, I'm all ears. If all you can manage is to hurl insults, I'm done.

I am not hiding behind anything and if I have insulted anyone it certainly has been no worse than what you have inferred about BRP, and said specifically about Carlo. My point is that if you want satisfaction in a situation like those that you have faced, yelling, screaming, and, yes, ranting is extremely unlikely to help you. My Spyder tried to kill me, so I am VERY clear on the possible outcome of mechanical failures, but they are inherent in ALL mechanical devices. They break, **** happens, the risk is part of what we do. It sucks when it does, but it will, so having a strategy that will help you rather than hinder seems like a good idea. Looking at it like you are going to war is just asking to be ignored. Sharing your situation in Internet forums is valuable for all, and voicing your frustration is cathartic, but one post is enough.

I'm sure that all of us can more than appreciate that fact, and it's a dang shame that you're in this position.
...But if he's trying to help you, why not let him utilize his best "guns" in the best possible way to try and find the problem? If it was me... and I'm glad as all Hell that it isn't...I'd want Carlo to be my new best friend and I'd gve him the room to swing the wrenches the way that he wants to.
 
Living here in western australia where the weather is ok for 99% of the year i can under stand the frustration that you must be having. your suggestion of transporting the spyder to warmer climes so that they can play and hopefully fix before you can get good weather and ride is quite resonable. From all the posts that i have read to date, carlos seems to have done a good job given the constraints of his position.
I hope that you can resolve your situation and that BRP do come to the party fairly quickly.:chat:

with hi tech controls like our spyders have sometimes the basic is overlooked. when I was service manager at a ford dealership we would have vehicles sent to us that other dealerships were having problems with.One vehicle was an econoline van with a buck much like the problem here.A lot of parts apparently had been replaced.Problem turned out to be a spark plug boot shorting to ground intermitent :dontknow:

Although many may disagree with your approach, I do think it is good for people to pose challenges so things can get done. I'll admit that it's easy for us to sit here and tell others who are having horrific problems to take it easy, wait more, etc...however, what is lost in all this is the true stress of failed attempts at correcting a problem...getting hopes up only to have them get crushed time and time over again...all the while making payments and being unable to use what we bought to have so much fun with!

I will say that I respect that you are direct and focused with your requests from BRP. If not for people with the 'loudest voices', BRP might not have found out about problems until later on...and with more potential injury to all of us...we work much better as a collective whole when there are different approaches to problems...
 
Some are happy with carlo and some are not but Carlo works for brp. It's his job to coordinate repairs and try keep customers happy to benefit brp.
I am guessing poster of this thread is trying to rock the boat in hopes of getting a favorable response from brp but I doubt brp will bite. They might use it against you if you decide to hire lemon law attorney, trying to brand you as typical whinner.
No manufacturer including brp will voluntarily replace your vehicle without a fight. It may not necessarily go to trial but lawyer is pretty much required.
I am not saying "go after brp" but you gotta decision to make. Pursue legal action or work with them. "rocking the boat" will only have negative effect, both with brp and peers here.

On the side note, I picked up my spyder after almost 3 month in shop for main shaft replacement and dps and new dps is a such a improvement, it's almost like I did not have much of assist from old dps. It turns so much easier without spyder fighting back on hard turns. Too bad it's gotta go back to dealer. I got a coolant leak now.
