• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Cardo G4 problem

We were trying to get my Cardo headset working with my ipod & bluetooth transmitter. I've been using it to listen to the ipod but, the headset wasn't working to control the basic ipod functions.

Held the mobile button on the headset for about 6 seconds. The blue/red lights were supposed to alternate blinking.
Instead, the blue light came on steady and now won't go off. None of the buttons have any effect.

Has anyone ever experienced this? Is there a reset that will force this to shut down?
Really wanted to use it on a group ride tomorrow.
Up until now - it's been working ok (except for using the buttons on the headset to control my ipod).

1. Turn on your MP3 Player or Adapter, and make sure that its Bluetooth function is activated.
2. With the scala rider G4 headset turned ON, press and hold the Mobile Button for at least six seconds until the Red and Blue Lights begin alternating rapidly:
3. Search for Bluetooth headsets on your MP3 Player by following the device’s instructions.
4. After a few seconds the MP3 Player will list "scala rider G4" as a discovered device. Select it and follow your MP3 Player’s instructions to accept the pairing.
5. If your MP3 player prompts for a PIN or Passkey enter 0000 (four zeros).
6. Once pairing is complete, your MP3 Player or Adapter may confirm that pairing has succeeded, and the headset will begin flashing slowly in Blue. :doorag:

Update - plugging the headset module in to charge "woke it up".
So, we are back to where we were...able to listen to music & communicate bike to bike.
But, still can't get the buttons on the Cardo unit to control the basic functions of my iPod.
I have this bluetooth transmitter:

I double checked before buying to make sure it was both A2DP & AVRCP enabled.

Oh, well - might have to call either Sony or Cardo on Monday to see if they have suggestions.

With the cable,I think you can only control the volume on your mp3 with the headset controls. All other commands have to be done on the mp3 device itself.

Yeah - the cable connection does not give remote access to the iPod. The iPod stays in control. Just volume can be changed from the headset buttons - and that is actually changing the headset volume not the iPod volume.

I'm happy the headset is not frozen any longer - we can at least use it as we have been. I'll call Sony & Card to try to see if we can gain more functions.

Thanks for all the suggestions, though.
