• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

carbon fiber!

I wonder how long it'll last though. Hows the quality? I had some that I did some dash accents in my truck and after a year or so it started to lift around the edges.

thats why you have to take the parts off and wrap around the edges and seal it on the back side. its made by 3M and it REAL sticky.

time will tell though!

So... I'm slow... Is this a 3M carbon fiber vinyl or did you do something else? I'd sure like to do my bars. How did you get such a clean installation?

Brian

vinyl, dont do it - I am disapointed after it endured some cold weather - it gets brittle and somehow shrinks a tiny bit - some of my covered parts will be ok but the bars are most likely going to come off and get painted instaed.

Sorry to hear that, but thanks for posting the update to let us know what might happen if we did the same thing.

live and learn - it was worth a try I spose. Like I said some parts are ok but the more complex parts are suffering

I have wasted more money at the casino - So I look at it as a bad roll of the dice:shemademe_smilie:

Did you use 3M DI-NOC Carbon Fiber Vinyl or 3D Carbon Fiber Vinyl?

Maybe vinyl was over heated or stretched on complex parts.

3M DI-NOC - some curves were probably too much. Also the edges arent liking the cold weather. And its wierd because some areas have shrunk a bit where it was not heated or stretched.

Can you post pictures with bad errors?

Whats consider cold weather? {New York snow cold}

Did you overlap edges minimum 1/2 inch and use Primer 94 around edges to help seal out moisture?
