• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Car tire application website!

I purchased car tires on-line at tire rack yesterday and got asked the question... "What car are these going on?". Well I did a web search on "what cars use 215/60 R15 tires" and found this website https://www.wheel-size.com. You can enter any size that you want and it will give you a list of cars that use that size tire. Hope this helps others keep the tire police happy!

My results were,

Front tires 165/60 R15 = Geo Prism

Rear tire 215/60 R15 = Pontiac Fiero

Wheel size one thing but those vehicles did not come with only three lugs. A sharp tech may catch that. I told the tire shop it's for a smart car (fronts) they DO only have 3 lugs.

Trailer tires

First time I told them I'm replacing tires on a custom built trailer.
Last time I just ordered them straight up as I knew the tire and size I wanted

What does the number of lugs have to do with ordering tires on line?????

It will be interesting when the Tire Rack starts getting dozens of orders for 2 tires for a Geo Prism and 1 tire for a Pontiac Fiero! I am sure they won't suspect a thing! :roflblack:

If they insist on knowing, tell them you are building a swing set for the kids and you don't want to use old tires that may have damage and partially exposed wire from the steel belts that would injure the kids. (looong sentence. hope everyone could make it through without becoming bored)

Click around on the ordering form. In my experience, there should be box to check that says "These are exact replacements for tires already on my vehicle" or something close.

If you're looking for a rear tire, Walmart carries the General Altimax RT43 for $80. They don't ask silly questions.

How did you get those tires mounted? At a tire shop?

Thanks
Terry

Mate this a phenomenal web site which I too have been using now for about I'd guess, 18 months or so …. It was perfect for working out what where and when in order to be able to do my new front wheel conversion …. I'm heading off down to tomorrow morning to pick up these paid for, machined and honed 18x8's bad boys to fit up for a 'street rod' type conversion ….. which I am really looking forward to doing … Totally agree … awesome sight

Just mounted potensa 165/65-14 on my 2012 RT when asked what vehicle they were for I said trailer. No problem. Had front end shimmy. What a difference:cheers:
