• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Car Repair Opinions Please!!

A wiseman once said

A wiseman in Finance once said and I quote him, "If you want to get ahead don't have a car payment ."I am not bragging but I tried his idea and it works. We have been debt free for the past 13 years and it is wonderful. One of the young ladies that worked with me before retirement just turned a whopping 250,000 miles on her 1996 Toyota Tacoma crew cab. She does the routine maintenance like clock work without any castrophic repairs and she is a single mom which means no men to give her help!

Muddy engine oil

You said your oil looked Mississippi River mud ? If you mean a light tan color or baby poop you are getting excessive moisture in the engine crankcase! That can come from several sources and none of them are good . What are your driving habits like.

And the verdict is: worn out bushings on the sway arm. Also needs a new set 'o tires---so NOT what I was thinking!!!! The tires have less than 40,000 on them. So much for Goodyear..... He said the tread is horribly uneven on them. Bushings and tires will be put on tomorrow!!!

I think I'll be keeping it for a while..... At least until it starts rusting through the doors.... ;)

It is possible that the worn bushings contributed to the tire wear. You might PM Nancys Toy, seemingly he is a mechanical guru if not genius. Glad you got off "relatively cheap".

I always had pretty good luck with Coopers...
I haven't heard too much bad about them. I saw a lot of Jeep owners use them on a Jeep forum. That's a good sign!!

Nope. More like coffee. Just normal dirty oil. As for my driving habits...... well...... That sign does say 75---but that might just be the name of that particular expressway.... :roflblack: Seriously though, less than 20 miles to work and back. Mostly in-town driving.
