• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Pulled into a gas station to get gas and could not
release seat to fill up. Got home with some luck.
I have a Corbin seat that's been on for a month
no issues after puttting it on. Any hints on how to get
it to release?

Try pushing down on it while turning the key--- sounds like you have an alignment problem that is causing it to jam.Does the key turn hard-- where you can't turn it all the way to release it?

No. It turns easy. I psh the seat down & turn the key but it just seems
like it doesn't open all the way and the pin can't get past it.

Just a thought as this happened to me

I am sorry to quote the obviouse, but just after I took delivery of my Spyder I was at a gas station getting gas and the seat would just not release, it did somewhat but something was hanging up. The more I tried the more frustrated I got and I left and went home to phone my dealer for advise..............Turns out it was really simple but in my concern or panic on my part, whatever it was (brain fart) I was turning the key in the wrong direction and the front lid was opening and I hadn't noticed it at it dosent just pop out it only just opens and in my concern I just couldn't see it.

I am sorry if this is not the case but it happened to me and I know I have a few years behind me and do not think maybe as I used too but this simple event for me turned into a large event and I am only too glad I was not out in the boonie without the valuable assistant of a calm dealer.

Good luck whatever the situation is and hopefully tis will be resolved ASAP.

 I took off the side panel and was able to see the cable that
releases the pin. I pulled a bit on it and I was able to get it to
release. I had it in the shop this week for anantifreeze leak. So
I wonder if that had anything to do with it. Its been on for over
a month with no issue. Oh well I think I'll just back the pin in a bit
so it doesn't latch. Thanks for the pointers!

You have to adjust the pin

Sounds like it need to be adjusted so that the latch sits down on the pin and have room for a little downward pressure on the seat as you turn the key, therefore releasing the pin and seat will open.

Could need a little bit backward or forward adjustment, too. If the seat or trunk latch has any appreciable pressure against it, sometimes the latch will not slide back well. A little lubrication on the post and the latch plate can help. I used silicon grease so as not to make an awful mess.

Same thing happened to me at the gas station. Made it home and no more

pin. Only problem now is on windy days when I return to :spyder2: the

wind has blown the seat up.

Do you still have the seat piston on with the Corbin seat? I can't see how the wind would blow the seat up unless it's gale force winds. Most guys have to use some type of prop rod to hold the seat up while fueling.

No seat piston with the Corbin and they now come with a prop rod (got mine in May 09 with the prop rod).

Yup that's the trade off ... seat doesn't lock. I don't really have much wind in Jersey so I don't think the wind will pick up the Corbin. I was
wondering if anybody knows of a gas cap with a lock that would work
with the :spyder2:. Went on line and was checking it out and I read
a comment that some gas caps may cause sensors to go off. Any thoughts?

Dudley turns the key and I push down slightly on the seat and lift up. Little prop arm with a wheel holds it up while fueling, then drops down and locks into place when done.
Yes, we have turned it the wrong way and released the trunk.:ohyea:
FORGOT to mention ours is a Corbin.

Are you really concerned about someone stealing your gas? I've been cross country many times and I don't even take my key out. I've never had a problem.nojoke

As I recall, initially Corbin's instructions had you putting the seat piston back on. I say that because lamonster was one of the first to post that he didn't put the piston back in because it was jacking the seat out of position. He fabbed his own prop rod to hold the seat up while refueling and a few months later, all Corbin seats came with the prop rod. A Corbin seat owner would have to speak up but I just really can't see how else some wind would lift the seat and if it did, wouldn't the seat flop right back down? I would think the seat is heavy enough that a gust of wind shouldn't raise it. :dontknow:

push down on the seat as you turn the key if the key turns pull up on it then.
i have to do that some times i have the corban seat
