Cannot get cell phone to work with CB on my 2014, no not hooked up wrong

Ok, to start yes the cell phone interface cable is connected correctly, I removed the panels and double checked (I know the instructions are wrong in the manual). I have it hooked to the right hand cable coming out of the CB. I also tried it the wrong way and no change.

1. I moved this equipment from my 11 and it was working great on the 11 after I spoke with Steve 5 and found the issue with the misprint in the BRP instructions. (3 years later they still have not corrected it, I can only guess they figure the mechanics know about it by now and it makes the dealer money when a home install does not work, or, they just plain don't give a carp, lol)
2. The cb works (or appears to as I have no way of testing it until I get near some one transmitting but I do hear transmission static of an on indicating I am receiving.
3. As soon as I install the phone interface cable it will make a tone in my helmet when I key the mike, if I remove the phone interface cable it goes away.
4. When hooked up I can change the tone if I cover the connectors with my hand indicating I could add magnets to suppress however, this should not be required as it is the same CB and interface I used in my 11, nor would it solve the phone issue
5. I did buy the CB update kit which just adds 2 extensions and a metal backing plate to re-orientate the CB so it faces downward. From what I can see this is just a waste of over $100 by the way.
6. I also added the new head set cable for the drivers helmet connection
7. I added a ground cable to the metal plate and does nothing
8. I added a ground plane at the J&M antenna via tinfoil similar to what is shown on the forum
9. I double checked the mike connection to the GPS to ensure it is plugged in, the phone confirms this by saying "headset".
10. When I dial the phone, I can see it is ringing but no sound when ringing or after it connects
11. My headset works great as a com and to hear music and the CB
12. I deleted the Bluetooth connection to the phone and the Garmin 660 (Limited setup, came with the frame). No change

The only thing I can think of is the interface cable has gone bad. I checked all the wires and everything looks normal. I don't mind buying another one but if it does the same thing I am stuck with a $100 part, no returns on these parts.

I would appreciate any help in figuring this out.

Well the CB is working great, I picked up a guy about 10 miles from me as the crow flies, he was up high so it helped but its definitely working, no squeal either. So, it is the cell phone interface but where to go from here?

Could be in the 2014 wiring or programing(not the radio or its connections) Saw recently where they BRP has asked the dealers to freeze all CB radio sales for 2014's. Until they can figure out what is causing some folks to go into limp mode when using the CB. There was more to it than that. But that's the gist of it.

Finless has said the radio was changed in 2011, I think, as indicated by the change in the iPod cable. I wonder if there was a change in the radio that impacts the cell phone interface? Do you know if the part number for the interface is still the same? If not, that would indicate a change in it. Maybe the interface isn't compatible with the current radio, but I don't why that would be. The interface, as I understand it, interacts only with the CB, but the CB does get its function commands from the radio, which gets them via the CAN bus from the left multi-function switch.

Where is the phone interface cable located, back by the radio or in front between the headset connector harness and bike harness? I wonder if the mike cable from the interface is picking up noise from the spark plugs or something like that. Do you have any USB adapters plugged in. I found a lot of those can generate noise in the radio as discussed in my GPS install topic.

These are just some of the ideas that come to me. For all I know they could be well off base.

The radio change was in 2012, causing the change in the iPod cable.

Also, I have an email from BRP stating the cellphone interface cable has not changed for 2014 and is the same part and part number since 2011.

"Thank you for contacting BRP.

The right part number for the 2014 RT CB/Comm system is 219 400 532, the entertainment harness is 219 400 534 and the cellphone interface is the same number (219 400 390).

Well this is a good one then. I had the 2012 radio put into my 11 on warranty, major improvement by the way, so my current set up worked with the same set up before. The only new thing in the system are the extension cables and the headset cable. I guess I will have to start wit the cell phone interface cable to eliminate that as a source of the problem as without it everything works great.
