• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

cannister gone... raw gas instead

I had the purge valve disconnected and plugged for several months, ran great, but that short hose off the evan can bothered me so recently I decided to finish the job.

After removing the cannister and running the vent hose somewhere below the radiator, both our spyders leave a puddle of raw fuel on the ground whenever we stop after riding in hot weather.

Seems excessive. No wonder that cannister was so big, I bet we drop a tablespoon every time we stop.

Wondering if I should put a filter in the line or something to slow it down and give it a chance to run back into the tank. Or maybe route the hose as high as it can go for as long a length as I can find room for before going down and out.

Certainly runs better this way, but the gas smell is just as bad and now we leave raw fuel on the ground everywhere we stop... including the garage :yikes:

Any ideas?

Are you over filing your tank??? The can should be collecting fuel vapors not raw fuel as it is connected to a vent line. I kind of find it odd that your getting that much fuel out of the hose. How do you fill up the bike, are you topping it off a lot at the pump??

You should not be getting raw fuel. Make sure the vent hose (at some point) is higher than the top of the fuel tank. Otherwise, you're getting raw fuel in the vent hose when it should only be handling vapors.

You may want to run the hose out the back of the bike following the red brake fluid hoses. Havent had any problems so far and its been about 2 years now.
