• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

This is what the canister looked like when the tech at Arctic Adventure took it out. For all those that have not had their the recall done yet. Call your dealer and push them. This isn't a laughing matter.

Is this only the '13 models? I have a 2012 RT-S and haven't gotten anything in the mail regarding recall....

The tech never showed it to me, but my canister, as well as my master cylinder and brake cable sheath melted . . . yup, this recall is no joke . . .

It still baffles me how this much heat was not detected during development and testing. I'm not upset because I don't have the latest motor or the latest transmission. I am upset because I feel like I was sold a faulty product. I'd like to have confidence in BRP, that they are going to step up, but ... I like where Spyder technology is headed, but will wait for you 2014 BRP Beta testers to write your reports before I jump in with more $$$! Good luck!

The bike has a little over 4,300. While I was having the work done the tech showed me another 2013 with the same issue and about the same mileage.

The most intense heat is from 80mph interstate travel for hours on end. This seems to be when most of the melting happens. So if you don't do a lot of high speed interstate travel it might take a lot more miles before you have a problem.

Regardless, get the recall done if you have a 2013 ST or RT, don't wait.

WOW! You would think that 80 mph on an Interstate would give you MAX air flow for cooling. Something's not quite right. :dontknow:
