• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hi all this is my first post on this forum . It was -39c in Tofield Alberta this
morning.So i thought I might share some mod,s I did to my yellow SM5
which Igot june 15/08. the first thing I did was remove all factory graphics
painted calipers red VHT paint
painted-flat black inserts on hood all side panels topcover rear fender
installed L pipe and yashimura muffler with crome downdraft tip
Got MM garage wind shield which is a great shield but to narow so I made
wind wings from lexan, they work, and look great.at this time I allso made
lexan headlight covers (dark tint) gives the :spyder:avery sinister look
I also put red plastic screening behind every opening gives a great contast
then I modified and cut down a 1966 chevy nova aluminum grill to insert
under the nose,also VHT red
theseat was cut down and recoverd in a VW basketweave material
I never liked the tail light so I made one out of a crome skull cup holder
very cool the eyes light up
I did a ramair system from the right cooling scoop to air box-works great
then I made some rear grab rail covers out of an old leather steeringwheel
cover,cut into8" lengths
my last project is a sound system.I bought a JVC am/fm/dvd radio with
external mp3 plug-this unit is mounted against the back wall of the trunk
with velcro straps -the speakers are modified fog lamps(4") atatched
to the miror stems-painted trim black
THe problem was how to control the unit from the left handlebar
the solution was A 6' fiberoptic cable runing from the remote into the trunk
I hope I haven,t bored anyone, I have customized a lot of bikes but the
spyder is a real challenge Im going to try to send a picture hope it works

Nice Job - by the way - if you get a chance, post a few pictures of your speakers and how they are mounted - I too am in the process of mounting some real speakers and have decided to mount them to the mirror arms, a few pics will help the process. Again, great looking spyder - I went for the shark teeth option where you put the front grill:2thumbs:

nice very nice thought about grill from a car after seeing pic of spyder from dragonball z movie

Spyder man I am sending you a picture of my speaker Location. they are
4" housings with 3 1/2 inch speakers .painted trim black with a small amount of crome left. outlined in 1/8 red stripe. there is a 3" bolt
through the center or the housing. whitch goes through the center
of the mirror stems.this makes them adjustabe. as you can slide them
along the stems.I also had sharks teeth before the grill. they were
a real crowd pleaser. I guess great minds think alike.also sent rubber
antena location.I hope to see your instalation when done

Nice touch! Like the grill idea too. I, too, have a project underway (since November) for the Spyder and it will get done this month. I am changing the "snowmobile look" of the Spyder. I hope I can win some votes here when I get to post it. I am looking forward to showing it to you guys. Welcome here, Peel. Thanks for showing your toy.
