• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Can you

The Missus was thinking about the "wrinkle factor" too.
Perhaps some Armor-All treatments would reduce the likelihood of that occurring. :2thumbs:

Armor-All is not good for your seat cover especially in the sun
A good leather treatment might help that's what I use
But I can live with a slight wrinkle for the convenience of a gas door
The seat cover is soft so only time will tell
If you do it remember it is not official without pictures:roflblack:

NOT quite Now Where

After doing a seat like that Thursday here in shop I did make some
improvements so it does not brake down the foam or upholstery overtime.
I think I may make that a standard thing on my seats at little extra cost.

Bridgeport.... they used to have a killer bike ralley there maybe still do.
I am not sure about the Redwoods as yet I may be in Florida again
during that time. My wife tells me where I am going and when.
If you get up my way stop in and say HI. I am only 81 miles from
Yosemite.
Dave

This would be easy to do on any Spyder seat
Since you do seats it would be easy to do before you cover it
You live in California so are you going to Spyders in the Redwoods?
I will be there and you can see the seat I did
This will be the first group I've been with since 2009 owners event
I retired 3 years ago now I live in no where California Ha Ha
No job needed

Hi Dave
What improvements did you make and can I see pictures
I do not do upholstery but I like to think out of the box
always looking for something different
when they open Tioga pass I may come down to see you

Leather Treatment ????

Leather treatment stuff is useless on vinyl, vinyl is PLASTIC use a good quality
cleaner such as vinyl nu also or most anything EXCEPT Aromor All.... that makes the
seat slippery and sometimes can make the seat turn white or gray in the sun when left outside
Pledge works great and also on the paint.

I would only charge the cost in time it takes to remove the seat and make the cut
to the pan, I reinforced the area with seatbelt like material[/QUOTE

Maybe when I come to see you I can have you do that to mine
Also Bridgeport use to have a big bike rally every July 4th
They had some problems a few years ago and they do not promote the bike rally anymore but they still get a lot of bikers because they do a big 4th celebration
there is some great ridding up here but only one Spyder MINE

I've got the Missus thinking about this one; we talked about it just about all the way to Honesdale, to meet up with Spydaman60 this morning.
He was breaking his bike out of storage!

Hi Bob
If you do this mod...... just remove the seat from the trike before you take it all the way off
mark how far back you want the hinge area to be so you can access the gas cap, turn the seat over
DO NOT remove the staples draw a line with a sharpie where the pan is to be cut, at the ends of the
the line you made top and bottom remove about 3 or 4 staples on eather side of the line then make the cut
fold the door back to see how many staples need to be replaced add the velcro and put it back on the Spyder
that's it should take about 1 hour or less depending on how fast you can remove the seat and build up the
guts to cut your seat pan....
Have fun it's a great mod. :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:
Dave
PS again I wish I had thought of it first....

Dave,
How much would you charge for performing this modification to the stock seat?

Thanks Dave!
GREAT idea!

Don't forget to stuff some rags down the "Unending Holes" to keep any nuts or bolts from dropping down. I got my seat off in a short time when I send it to Utopia for the backrest mod, but getting it back on was a royal bitch for some reason. :D Waiting to see how you make out on this one; I may well give it a try also.

 One of the first things that I do at the start of a project...
...is try to figure out what I can have go wrong! :yikes:
(When I set my 2010 up to let me know if the rear or side storage compartments was open; the bike ate a small screwdriver, and a 10mm socket)
