• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Can you have to many lights?

I know the easy answer for most, will be NO!
I have a 2014 RTS and as of now, besides the stock lights, I also have the 'High Mount Third Brake Light' and also the 'LED Front Fender Lights.' Love them both!
I've been thinking about adding 'Saddlebag Side Lights,' and possibly lights for the mirrors that I believe a vendor on here sells to help keep you from driving with your turn signals on for 15 miles not that I've ever done that.:opps:

Any issues with the electrical system handling the extra load? I'm good with a hammer and a Skilsaw but electrical is not my forte. So Looking at the combined expertise here for input.
Thanks in advance!

Yeah....

eventually....:roflblack: but with the LED that would be more light than you could fit on your spyder...:yikes:

ELECRIC LOAD

As long as you use LED's , you could cover every square inch and not overload the 1330 engine / alternator system .... maybe not even the V-twin - Magneto if you switched to LED headlights first ....... Mike

So many of the lighting products I see are plug n play. Biggest hurdle is the Tupperware in most cases.
I'm guessing you can do this. Especially with all the informative videos outthere, and better instructions
from MFG> than ever before.

Those are all good choices for additional lighting on the RT. I have the same lights and additionally have daytime running lights mounted on the a-arms and an additional brake light

NEVER

just so they are not blue and or red
facing forward........

Don't worry, you won't do that. A half mile maybe, not much more. The Spyder turn signals are self canceling after about 30 seconds, which, at 60 mph will be about 1/2 mile. I wish the time was more like 15 seconds, but at least they do self cancel eventually!

i added ground effects lighting in 2010 (at the Carlisle pa bike show) and approx 12 strips each containing up to 12 lights and each containing 8 colors leds. the effect was really unbelievable...since it is a problem putting a switch on the body that is access friendly i went with wireless remote...it is about the size of a match pack and was the way to go...i have left them on for up to 8 hours without the bike running and had no problems with drainage...i was told i could leave them on for up to 4 days before it became an issue...i dont want to test is statement...even with the strobes running it was not a problem...dont be afraid to add as many lights as you can...mounting them on the tupperware is the only thing that you want to avoid...good luck and happy lighting!!!!

I did not know that....I'll pay more attention. Thanks for the info though I'm still interested in those mirror lights.
Ride safe!

NO, you can not have to many lights, safety, visible.

I have a 2014 RTS-SE6 and here are some pictures of lights on the saddle bags( as side lights) that I have:
LED'S lights on a 2014RTS-SE6 005.jpg LED'S lights on a 2014RTS-SE6 009.jpg. These lights are running lights.

Look at the TRIC-LED/or Spyderpops ( they are a vendors on this site). Deanna

Too many lights?

Nope, not yet!

This is my 2016 RT Limited. The LED headlights and fog lights are from Lamonster, and the rest of the lighting is from TricLED.

The reflective decals are from Wrapmyspyder.com.
