• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Can this plastic piece be removed to wrap?

I would like to wrap this glossy black plastic piece pictured here. It looks all scratched up and I think the best way to make it look better is to wrap it.

Do you really need to remove it to wrap it??

I've seen lots of wraps put on panels like that without removing them, and they still look pretty good - just as good, if not better, than those where the panel's been removed to wrap it! ;)

I have never done a "wrap" before, so I am searching for answers... it seems you are not the first to say wrap it, but can it be done without removal?

Yes, it can be wrapped without removal. 'Wrap My Spyder' have clear paint protection wrap or carbon fibre look-alike wraps for that panel.

This may sound a bit odd, but the last few days, coming home from work around 4:30 in the afternoon, the sun hits just where the reflection is hitting me in the eyes. Dang near blinding. I had also moved my cup holder from its previous spot, as it partially blocked the mirror. The dang chrome top of it also reflect the sun. I colored it black with a sharpie. lol

My newly acquired 22 F3L is gloss black. I am likely going to use clear film from Pete at wrapmyspyder.com for many of the horizonal surfaces that are most subject to being scratches, such as the top case, service panels and adjacent areas. I think clear film is easier to apply than sticky back wrap, and preserves the gloss black colour.

To answer your question, yes, it can be removed. Both side panels and the ignition switch bezel need to be removed first. Not hard at all.
