• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Can the key be left in the ignition on the RT.

I received my IPS from Lamonster today and think its really good.I would like to leave it in the ignition all the time but read in one of the threads you should take it out because of the computer. Is this so?If there is no problem leaving it in nobody know s there is a key under the IPS and if they do they would have to figure out how to start it.:dontknow:

My key, with the IPS cover, has stayed in the ignition pretty well all of time over the last two years. I only remove it when I park for extended periods of time and the bike is out in plain sight. No pun intended.

No issues have been observed as a result of this practice.

Has anyone ever had an IPS & key stolen from their bike ? that could be a costly theft and a bunch of aggravation!

When I park in a public place, I always turn the IPS 1/2" or so to the left so it cannot be easily pulled out if anyone tries.
I am on my 2nd spyder and still have the original IPS and no problems so far.

Question has been answered...

A reason to remove the key (and the spare key) from the bike and move a distance of 15 feet minimum away from the Spyder is to allow the computer to reset. This is only in the event you have problems with the computer "re-booting" -- which unfortunately occurs occasionally.

So... don't be confused with this. You CAN keep the key in the ignition.

Lamont has left his in since he came up with the IPS. Doesn't that tell you something? The computer doesn't give a rip...as long as the key is turned off.

Love the idea of this and i think it looks cool! But scared that somebody will stumble across our community here and learn about it and drive off! What about at Spyder or bike events any issues? I will buy it when I join the ranks but may carry it with me...:doorag:

I like the idea of IPS. But I'm just too nervous to leave it in my Spyder in a busy parking lot and I don't wanna walk around with a huge bulge in my pocket.

key

I love the idea of it but I would be too afraid that someone might would steal "Pearl". Then I would have to get mid-evil on someone. Thats not a pretty picture. :roflblack:

Leave it in

Yep leave mine in.... looks cool....when people ask me what that is I tell them just a cool spyder mod that just looks great....( I know Mike, blueknight911, you :yikes: on this one!!!)....so far no one has asked "where does the key go?"....hmmm think if/when that happens I will show them somewhere around the back tire!!!!:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

Arr,
I found that a holster pouch designed to fit the speedloaders for an S&W 500 mag will hold an I.P.S.
I've got one if you want it. PM me.
