• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Have had my spyder just about a month now and have to admit it is harder to work on due to having to remove just about every panel on the bike just to work on it. Noticed I developed a small anti-freeze leak coming from the right side of the engine. Overnite I would have a small puddle under the bike. I retightned the side case bolts and cured my leak. Anyone else have this happen to them? I do think I better invest in a shop manual for the spyder. Is there any way of downloading off computer or is this just a dealer item that needs to be ordered? And wonder how much the manual is? Anyone bought one or have one for sale? Otherwise I'm very happy with my spyder but think I'll keep the Harley just in case the spyder needs to go to the shop. The warranty is up in July and am keeping close tabs on everything just in case it needs warranty work. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks..

You may want to consider extending your warranty coverage before it expires. You can buy the BEST policy while it is still covered but once it expires you can't get it. Bert's was offering a discount on this coverage but I'm not sure they still are. Check them out.

I made the body work easier to remove/reinstall by converting most of the T-30 screws to Dzus fasteners (the D-ring fasteners that are on the oil checking panel). They aren't cheap, but they are really nice. There is some plastic trimming involved, but a sharp utility knife makes quick work of it. :D

Make sure you get the 14mm size for plastic body panels (the 12mm are too short).

do it about 20 times :D
it becomes easier and easier each time

Two things: 1.) Yes, you will take those stupid panels off over and over again fi you do any mods at all to your spyder. Have had ours over two years now and I don't want to count the number of times we have taken it apart. The Duz fasteners would probably be a smart way to go for us.

2.) You may not really have had an antifreeze leak. Sometimes it has been discovered that the cap on the reservoir has not been put on tightly. Check that first.

Oh yeah, Enjoy your spyder...:2thumbs:

Yup, those Duz fasteners sound like the way to go. The cap on the reservoir was on ok and after sitting all nite and checking it this morning, noticed it leaking from a hose clamp. Tried tightning it and because brp used such cheap clamps, did'nt work. Went to Napa and got some real hose clamps and that seemed to cure the problem. Started it and ran it up to operating temperature and shut if off. Will go out in a few hrs and double check to make sure the leak is fixed. Really do enjoy the spyder, just experiencing some new bike gliches I guess.

+1 to Some Guy's recommendation.

Here is KurveyGirl's detailed explanation of Dzus fastener sizing.
