• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Can Am Sway Bar Installed

Well this little project certainly isn't for the faint of heart. A true pain in the arse. I actually made up some new cuss words according to my wife. If you don't have a garage full of tools don't even attempt this. I won't go into all the issues I had just suffice it to say it's not a beginner project. That being said, it is a definite improvement in cornering and handling on my Rally. If I had to do it over again I would probably look into the Baja Ron Swaybar. His straight bar would have made this project a breeze. But it's over now and I'm glad I did it but would most certainly go a different route knowing what I know now.

Kudos to you! That is a Bear of an install! I've done very few projects more frustrating or difficult. Reminded me of one of those steel wire puzzles where you keep thinking you almost have it solved... But you don't!

Ron- Your site isn't listing the Ryker bar cost or availability.

You are RIGHT! I've been getting so many orders for the Ryker bar kit (and I do have it listed on our Facebook page). That I'd forgotten to update my Banner Ad Page here on Spyderlovers. I just finished listing the Ryker bar kit (with pictures) there. They are available and ready to ship.

Thank you for the reminder.

I finally got a chance to install the new sway bar. After a week of testing it does as expected.
But the Ryker could use a little bit more weight in the front end. Upon entering a sharp turn,
if its a little bumpy the front has a tendency to skip across the road. But its not gonna tip.
Bar is wonderful thanks Ron for a great job.

I would like to know what tire pressure you're running in the front. Also, how did you find the install process as far as ease/clarity of instructions, etc.?

Thank you!

I am running 18 psi in the front and 20 rear. I'm gonna play with that a little this weekend.
I had no problem with the install. Instructions was good to me. I was able to follow right
along.

I do not have a recommended tire pressure for the Ryker yet. I'm working on that. Don't know which Ryker version you have. But I am also curious as to where you have the front shock pre-load set. Not saying that tire pressure & shock pre-load would resolve the issue. But they certainly effect how well your tires stay in contact with the ground. The front of the Ryker is pretty light.

I would like to join in on this whole tire pressure shock setting thing in regards to my Rally. My front shocks are set on 3 and my tire pressure is the recommended 20F and 28R. I also did the upgraded Can Am Swaybar. Handling seems lots better but always looking for other recommendations. I weigh right at 240 and I believe that comes into play also.

No problem, I'll give you all the info that I can. I have the Rally, the front shocks are set at level 4.
I weigh 200lbs. This road I was talking about is bumpy and not your normal type road. I just feel
that a few extra pounds in the nose, maybe 50 lbs or so would do the trick.
Your bar did wonders for it. Thanks

Along with the other things mentioned, rider weight, riding style, road surface, even ambient temperature can affect how well the wheels hug the ground. On a rough road surface, the shocks probably have more to do (suspension wise) with maintaining ground contact. You might lower your shock pre-load a click or 2 just to see what that does for you. Experimentation is the key.

Ron, Here is an update that you may be able to use.
I have the Ryker Rally.
After I had my alignment checked, which was good.
I started to work with my air pressure. I now use 20
psi in the front and 28 psi rear. Front shocks are set
at 4. Now she handles really really well. Now I am a
happy camper. Hope the info comes in handy for you.

Funny you should mention air pressure. The front tires on my Ryker were so out of balance when I took delivery that I took it back. They had another Ryker Rally still in the crate and they swapped my tires out for those. That made a good bit of improvement and at first I was fairly satisfied. But the more I rode it and swapped back and forth between the Ryker and my Spyder, the less happy I was with those Kendas. I did a run out on them and they are not round. Not even close. The right one has some pretty good lumps and bumps. Can't tell if it is cord separation, but i don't think so. It hasn't gotten any worse.

The other day I checked tire pressures. Something i should have done right out of the gate. They were at 16 psi. I ran them up to 19 psi and it seems to have made a big improvement. I am not sure how the tire pressure change could have taken the lumps and bumps out. And maybe it is just my imagination. I will need a longer ride to be sure. But preliminary seat of the pants seems promising.
