can-am spyder hybrid

A note, with picture, in the June edition of Road Runner Motorcycle touring and travel magazine--shows and briefly discusses the new spyder hybrid. The note says:"BRP gave folks at the International Motorcycle show in New York a first look at the Can-Am Spyder hybrid concept vehicle. The company hopes to get 50 percent better mileage (over current can-am spyder roadsters),plus comparable performance and a long range around 375 miles. The Spyder concept is a plug-in hybrid equipped with an electric motor, lithium-ion batteries, and a Rotax advanced combustion efficiency (ACE) engine. BRP plans to hybridize its can-am sypder roadsters in the future.

A 50% improvement in fuel economy would still bring you to a stop in less than 300 miles, so there's got to be more under the hood than they're showing. I'd really like the PR folks to get out of the way and let some of the engineers talk for a while! :thumbup:
