There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Can Am Kavalier Jacket

my son got one on sale at the dealer when he bought his '09 RS. he wears it all of the time but
it's still hot when it hot and cold when its cold. he wears a sweatshirt for the winter rides and a Joe Rocket mesh for the summer. The jacket is a great jacket but a little pumped up in both claims for all season and price.

Look at Firstgear or Tourmaster Jackets as a lower price alternitive. The features and usefullness are about the same but the price is less than half. If you did a poll of who wears what you would find a lot of these two in use daily.

We just ordered a first gear and a joe rocket mesh jacket for about $300.00. We will see in a week or so how they are for hot weather.

I've spent a lot of money on accessories, but I can't justify $700 for a jacket, even if there's 15% owner's discount. We both own the Can Am rain suits, which were reasonable and they look great, too.

I just got a BRP accessory catalog in the mail yesterday. Yes, I looked at the Kavalier. I also feel that $700 is way to much.

I do have both the Caliber textile and the BRP Leather jackets--at the time I bought those--they were in the $300's. They have served me well, but there is a lot of competition out there that is less in price.

One thing in the Kavalier's favor over the cheaper Firstgear/Joe Rocket/etc. is that it's cordura, which is better than the polyester weave you get in the cheaper stuff.

But if I'm spending $700 on a jacket, it better be leather, or a custom cut (Aerostich/Motoport/etc.).

BTW, who makes the Can-Am gear? I'm assuming it's all re-badged stuff anyway (like the helmet, that's Givi... so what about the other stuff?).

:agree: Do you have any idea how many farkles I'd have to delay purchasing in order to wear one of those?? :yikes:

Why is everything from Can Am overpriced?

I got the catalog too. I think most of the items are not bad priced compared to HD brand. But $700 for a coat....that's a bit much. We've spent a ton of $$ on HD clothes but I would never pay that even for an HD jacket!

USD$ 699.99 :yikes: Ouch...

We (sewnonnie and I) have First Gear Mesh-Tex and First Gear KILIMANJAROs. One of each for less than the Kavalier. (nice looking tho it is).

The KILIMANJAROs and our Frogg Toggs Road Toads pants proved themselves yesterday on our ride from NE Tennessee back too Georgia. Both did outstanding jobs.:2thumbs:

I have BRP's summer mesh and leather Jacket , both with armor. I like them very much. I don't always pull my trailer and so I need to decide which jacket will work if i start riding in the day to the evening. I don't want to use up valuable trunk space. I am considering getting this jacket, as it sounds like it is useful for everything. If it does what it says, it is worth the space it will save on a trip without a trailer.
