• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The place put the alarm on my 350Z.
he said they can put the viper alarm with remote smart start
on the spyder. I am doing my research before they take anything apart.

I would doubt they can unless they can bypass the security chip on the key(s) and pressing the MODE button once the computer boots.

:agree:
The question might need to be, "Can I carry a handgun with me that'll discourage all sorts of unwanted behavior? :joke:

That gives me an idea. Mount a gun holster to your Spyder. leave it empty. Put a little sign above it that says "the owner of this firearm will be back shortly. Don't let him catch you messing with his Spyder”.

Helps if you look like a badass. I know I don't.

I would almost think you might be better off with having the dealer install lo-jack rather than having some other party jack with the electronics on your bike.

Just say'n

At a minimum you're going to lose a key (they will have to bury the key transponder in the dash somewhere near the starter sensor for remote start to work).

Also, you are paying for functionality built into a Viper (DEI) product that doesn't apply to a Spyder (e.g. Windows up/down, door locks, etc...) which is minimal but is baked into the MSRP of the product.

I think you are better off with LoJack, a standard motorcycle alarm or even the holster/sign idea.

Just my $0.02.
