• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Calsci windsheild review

Unfortunately my Corbin faring does not play well with our new NMN riser kits :(

The faring really worked well , and inasmuch it was really doing a good job keeping little or no wind pressure on me. Something I did not realize until I switch back to the stock shield.

After looking into the "science" of how different aftermarket windshields were being made, and taking in account their aesthetics as well. I finally decided to order a new CALSCI 21' windshield for my Spyder.

The windshield arrived today and was boxed very well with an actual sewn cloth cover on it to protect it in transit. Very top notch indeed!
It also came with a very nice soft cleaner cloth and cleaner too boot!

After hearing some of you remark about different windshields not fitting so swell, I too was a bit concerned about how this aftermarket shield would go on?

The install was a snap and everything lined up 100% on the first try!

All the holes are in the correct position and the shield fits in the "pocket" very nice.

I took it out for a ride with just a "half" helmet on purpose just to see how it performed without a full face helmet "hiding" any short comings.

The ride was GREAT! There was just a touch of wind noise when sitting 100% upright that went right away with just a tilt of my head. Something that ether a full face helmet or their 23" shield would make disappear 100%.

I only went with the 21" version because I wanted to keep a somewhat "sportier" look to the bike and made a conscious decision to sacrifice what I knew would be "total quite' for a bit of aesthetics.

This shield impressed me so much I signed my company up to be a dealer for these windshields!

We will soon be able to supply all our fellow SpyderLovers with these shields once our order comes in.

I give this shield :2thumbs:

I will ask Lamonster to post some PICs for me if he would be so kind

That's great news. I've been using the BRP touring shield but I was hoping to get something to cut down the turbulence just a bit more. I'll probably be giving you another call again fairly soon.

Stop making/obtaining such great products for the Spyder so my husband won't kill me. My hobbies are ending up way more expensive than his :)

Time to buy him a Spyder Beka. He'll be too distracted with his to notice how much you are spending on yours. :D

LOL. He doesn't even have his permit yet. I think I'm going to have to drag him to the RMV and then sign him up for driving lessons to get things moving. On the plus side, by the time he gets his license, the SE5 might be readily available. Unfortunately, he doesn't like the yellow or red and I already have the silver, so we'd have to get his custom painted blue. And then we'll end up putting even more into his than mine. Nooooooooo.

I'll stop now. I should avoid posting when taking meds that have the label "may cause drowsiness". In my case, the label should read, "will cause moderate insanity and sudden random bouts of singing".

I like this windshield!!!!!!!!!! From the reports it sounds like it works fairly well also. As far as I know right now I won't be doing long cross country rides on my Spyder, but I sure would like better wind protection at 85 on the SoCal freeways.
