Original stock muffler back on and the verdict is in. Both my husband and I like it better than the Hindle. Spyder ran great too. No popping or backfiring, smooth as silk. Granted, today was not hot the way it was on the day the Hindle gave me such sound effects. So, I won't absolutely know for sure if my Spyder had other problems in the heat. But, I think it's probable that it's all good from here out.
Have had a nibble on my used Hindle. I'll wait until the person is back from Spyderfest and decides if he wants it for sure. If not, my Hindle will be up for sale at a very reasonable price as there are 6000 miles on it. It's in great shape for someone who doesn't mind a bit of a rumble. I didn't realize it before, but the louder sound is fatiguing. I'll be quite happy with the stock muffler.
