• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I know that CA DMV does not require a Motorcycle License, but today my insurance company (ACSC) claims I need one for them to insure. It's always something....

I am picking up my new RT-S PE tomorrow!!!!!

Any CA ryders have thoughts.
Thanks
Tony

Yeah. Find another insurance company.

Go with Pacific Specialty / McGraw. They'll insure you. I have had them for about 5 years now for all my motorcycles and had no problem getting coverage on the Spyder 2 1/2 years ago.

Oh, and CONGRATS!

Insurance companies don't get it!

I dropped Geico because I got into an arguement with them over this very issue and I had been with them for over 5 years for my cars and home owners insurance. Flo at Progressive was not any more help and they were expensice. Allstate was half as much as everyone else with more coverage. They do require an M1 endorsement but the local agent is a motorcycle rider and understood the issue. Definately go through a local agent, not an online company. If you don't have an M1 go through the Motorcycle Safety Class. Then you get the discount. :congrats: on the new trike. We love ours.

I have my ins w/Progressive...$363 yr... I do have motorcycle license since I was going to buy a Harley... glad I didn't... LOVE MY SPYDER... u may as well get ur lic too, since Calif is broke and they r going to make it a law... they need the extra $$$$

I went with Foremost.... Be aware that most insurance companies I checked with still consider Spyders motorcycles regardless of what the CA DMV believes...with that said, if you do not have a motorcycle license, classes or experience you may find yourself paying a higher premium. Oh yeah....they also consider it a sport-bike because of the 990cc rating. That helps bring the premium up as well. fun fun fun

Hope that helps.
