Cal-sci Windshield v. F4 Customs Winshield

OK, I need all y'all's help on a potential new upgrade. I'm 6-ft flat, and sit on an air hawk seat pad, on a stock can am seat for my 2014 RT-S. I'm experiencing the wind buffeting issues at high speeds, even with the stock windshield all the way up... Feel like I'm getting pushed around at times and sometimes very noisy. I know it's due to the windshield and quite honestly, don't know why I have to upgrade such a thing, if they would design it correctly the first time. Nonetheless, I have narrowed it down to two options... Cal Sci (L or XL) and F4 (extra wide with vent) Which one is better, which one looks good, and are there any things to look out for? I've read a lot of older posts and blogs about these windshields, but I haven't seen anything lately that specifically talks about these windshields and the likes/dislikes. Would love some quality feedback prior to pulling the trigger on the purchase. One thing I noticed immediately is a big cost difference between the two.... So I'm already swayed towards the Cal-Sci. Please help lol!

I'm the same height as you as also use an air hawk on longer rides. I agree with everything you said concerning the stock windshield. I installed a Cal-Sci XL and am very happy with it. It pretty much eliminates all the buffeting. I usually ride with it somewhere in the middle position, with the stock windshield I always had it all the way up. It is nice to be able to raise it all the way up when it's extremely cold or raining or put it all the way down on hot days or when in town. Many say you need an adjustable vent but I've not found that to be the case. If you put your hand behind the vent at cruising speed you are able to feel the air go through it up to about the edge of the dash, after that it just dissipates. I have no experience with the F4 windshield and I'm sure it's a fine product too. I chose the Cal- Sci and have been very pleased with the performance and the price.

Now that's the feedback I'm looking for...

Thank you very much! Do you think you could get away with just the Large size... It would be nice to have the extra in case of the cold and rain though, so I like you comment concerning the XL. What about looks? Does the XL look huge or out of place? I'm worried that it will look goofy like a barn door sitting on the dash!?

i am same size as you and I hated the stock w/s. I went with the cal-sci. it is great. I should have gotten the xl, but did not. so I ride with it about half way up. all is good.

I bought the Cal-Sci as well. I compared the sizes to the BRP original equipment on my 2011 RT and went with the XL. It was the same height as the original. I do, slightly, regret that decision. If I were to do it over I'd buy the Large instead. I am also 6' tall and find myself stretching to look over the windshield sometimes in the lowest position. I do like the Cal-Sci better than my original though. I believe it to be quieter and reduced buffeting.

F4 Customs Windshields

Hey guys Don Frank here from F4 Customs.
With the F4 Customs Plus 3 wide you get a great ride. We recommend the adjustable louvered vent to reduce the back pressure and it also helps on those hot days.
The main thing about a F4 windshield is that they are extremely scratch resistant (even with steel wool), they shed rain, and they are optically perfect.
We would love to earn your business.
