• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I want to buy a 2012 can am rss. in general for people like me who dont know to much about the bike, what questions should we ask the dealers to make sure that were not getting ripped off, and that the bike is in good standard new or used. is there certain types of maintenance that should be done prior to purchase? and what type of warrenty should we get and what should the dealership cover?

:welcome:First; you've found the best site for information about Syders.
As far aa dealers go; you've got to use your own instincts... Just like with buying cars...
If you've got a dealer in mind; feel free to ask if anybody in here has had any experience witj them.

There is a lot of good things said about them on here. Search y
yet hem on SLs and read on them. You may want to contact some of the people that use them.

My two cents

Check several dealerships and there rating with customer satisfaction -- service after the sale is important to reflect on. Anyone can sell your a vehicle but without having good service after the sale is a nightmare. The key point - do a lot of research before making a commitment, once your satisfied with the dealership and what he can offer after the sale in service then you can make a good decision to purchase or not. This site offers the best information anyone can ask for and it is free for the asking, hope this helps in some way.

Ask your dealer about specific issues and how they would handle it and the associated cost. Oil changes vary a great deal. My 600 mile check and the next oil change were $150 each. That is very reasonable for these bikes. Also, ask about specific issues like alignment that is bad from the factory (how many miles before it is your responsibility). Cosmetic issues that you find in the first 600 or so miles would be another issue. Dealers make the difference in customer satisfaction on these bikes. My dealer made up the difference when I was unhappy about an error in the brochure and BRP would not stand behind their advertising. That made me very happy. Also, there should be no extra funny charges like freight and/or setup.
