We are about to buy our first Spyder. 2012 RT SM5. Anybody have any tips for us? I learned a lot from Sticky's Do's and Do Not's

There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

to both the spyder world and this awesome site. Congrats on your choice of ryde..!! :2thumbs: and pictures when you have them...you have started well the do's and do not's is very helpful. Read your manual cover to cover so you will know how to and where to on your machine. Practice and in a few hundred miles you will be comfortable with your roadster...enjoy, be safe...:thumbup:

:congrats: on your choice. The 2012 is considered the best year for RT with the 998 Rotax engine in it. Wishing you miles and miles of great rides. :yes:

Welcome! Note that it will take you at least 200 miles to get comfortable on it. Don't chop that 1st ride up - hit the road and put a couple of hundred miles on it, and you will begin to enjoy the ride. Watch out for holding the bars too tightly - keep a loose grip.

Welcome. Spyderlovers is the place to go for answers or help. Lots of nice people as you have already.
Only other thing I can add is your feet up, they balance theself, no need to put your foot down if you are coming from two wheels
