• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Why 2 GPS's

Someone posted on my blog posted a question why I have 2 GPS's mounted. For my grand tours (this year Talk Like a Pirate and Whispering Giant Tour) I am heavily dependent on the GPS to route me to exact locations to pick up points. One GPS acts as the overall route for the day, giving me the number of miles remaining and time I should finish. I have a general idea where I am going to stop for the day, it does not always work out the way I planned. Having been taken out by one deer in Montana, we are somewhat reluctant to ride at night. With that said that GPS tells me if I should begin looking for a place to stay for the nigtht. The other GPS I use for loading up the next stop to give me a sense of miles to the next place. This is simply a subset of the first GPS. I also use this as a "what if" GPS for those ad hoc moments. Not that I can't do this with 1 GPS, however they have become relatively cheap so why not.

As I indicated, when chasing down locations I am heavily dependent on the GPS, so having 2 I always have a back up. I those extra special days out on the road, I have been known to carry a 3rd one in stored in the side case or rear trunk.

Well I think IMotorsports should consider renting this story as a personal endorsement for them........I now feel very good about suggesting them to you way back when you started asking questions ...................Mike

And I thank you for pointing us in the right direction. You know where the Townsend Diner (Dam Diner) is. If so we could ride up and buy you lunch !...Country Girl Diner works too. ! (not as good as it once was):clap::yes:

I have been in contact with IMotorsports. They have a heck of a deal on Spyders especially the free delivery or plane ticket to Chicago. The problem with that is Chicago. Never enjoyed driving thru there and that was in the 90's. I can't imagine what its like now. I was driving thru Canada to go to Sturgis, even Montreal was easier.

I live in the Chicago area. The trick to Chicago driving is to go though during none rush hour times. 9:30AM to 3:30PM.

iMotorsports is great. I am lucky that they are my servicing dealer. As for Chicago driving it sucks for certain. Elmhurst is a suburb and if you can avoid the city entirely it is for the best.:doorag:

They are off route 83, which is very nasty around rush hour. I went there on Saturday and the traffic was OK.

well if you are not doing 80 MPH you will get run over in the city area:yikes: ..further outside the city a bit better but you still have to be careful out there..Anyway the spyder can handle it trust me..

stay away from downtown..the interchange is being all redone.also 290 is always a mess..
