• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Bushtec hitch on RS.

I have an '09 RS with BRP saddlebags installed. As I have been looking for a frame mounted hitch I called Bushtec to see if their hitch would work. They told me that they have never had a :f_spider: at their shop that had bags installed to see if the hitch would fit properly. Has anyone out there installed a Bushtec hitch on their :f_spider: that had bags without problems or alterations? :helpsmilie:

I'm not sure if these are the BRP mounts or not but Tatt2r made them work with the Bushtec hitch.

Thanks for the replies. I would get the CAN AM hitch as it costs about the same as the Bushtec but I would prefer a frame mounted hitch that doesn't work with the suspension, especially since I don't intend to buy the CAN AM trailer. I am afraid other trailers that weren't designed of a hitch that moves with the suspension might be damaged. I will PM Tatt2r and ask him about his installation.

Please understand that it is really just the opposite. A frame mounted hitch moves up and down with the suspension, a swingarm mounted hitch remains stationary. On the other hand, some forces of the trailer tend to be absorbed a bit through the suspended, frame-mount hitch, while they are directly transmitted to the vehicle through a hitch mounted on the swingarm. BRP has dealt with this via a patented shock-absorbing system (resilient pads) built into the hitch. I have towed two different non-BRP trailers a couple of thousand miles with the RT hitch, without any problems. There is nothing built into the BRP trailer that is expressly desingned for use with the BRP hitch.
