• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Do trailers in your state have to be licensed?
Yes, Michigan trailer have to be licensed. They moved to a permanent plate a few years back in a short-sighted attempt to balance the budget, so you only need to buy a plate once.

Great job.. I have been thinking about doing the exact same trailer.. Only I was gonna use the trailer that is a step down from that one.. Now that I see that it can be done, I will probably mover forward with that project this winter.. Can you post the ebay # for the hitch.. Thanks

.

In Jersey a trailer has to have brake / turn signal lights, and the plate has to be lighted.

The next step down has smaller wheels I believe------ I'd step up to the 12" wheels if I were you......

Looks great firefly, I can appreciate the thought and design that went into this. A lot of personal satisfaction and a cheap price to boot.

If you're thinking of the Tagalong, it isn't available anymore, I think I got one of the last ones. First thing I did was put 12 inch wheels on it.
Hey Dan, if your trailer was prewired, check the wiring, every light connection on mine had the blue Scotchlite clamshells for splices, with bare wire hanging out.

Is it big enough to sleep in?

My Dear Friend Dan
I like your trailer a little bit.--------If I can borrow it I would like it allot.

Ahhh ----last year at this time you needed a hair cut.

Mine wasn't pre-wired--- I wired it up my own way-- made sure it was done to last. Couldn't really count on the frame as being a good ground due to painting it with spray-on truck bed liner - so I ran grounds to every light. I still have a ground run to the frame too.

Since I have a triple-play I was able to just run the wiring from the left and right 'running light/rear turn signal' leads coming out of the triple play. The right lead and a ground to both righthand lights-- and ditto for the left.

I'll detail the wiring more later on when I get a chance...

Well done my friend... Load it on up and head on down for our final October run to Branson MO... Very professional job to say the least.. This could be a winter project for me.

Why would you step up to this one.. I know that the one that I want has 8 inch wheels.. They would carry more speed but the trailer wont be loaded very heavy an this one is about 100.00 less...
