• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Today my wife and i took a ride. Probably 120 miles.

Lookig at new rvs and had lunch. Anyway we got home and after about an hr. i said i'm going out and wipe the spyder down. She said why you have got enough wax and detailer on it the bugs should slide off.

Am i obsessed i wipe spyder down after everyride :dontknow:

DOES ANYONE ELSE DO THIS ?????? :doorag:

Have you tried that Black Dymond Detailer that LaMonster sells? Pretty good stuff

I wash and wipe down my spyder when I get a chance, I am busy lady. I use Blue/ Coral wash and Wax liquid, with hot / or warm water, and it takes the bugs etc. right off. Deanna

Repeat after me. My name is........ & I have a clean :spyder2: obsession.

Try a dryer sheet in a bottle of water. The solution dissolves the bugs, it wipes off leaving it look polished. Your :spyder2: will even smell good.

One of my visitors from the lower 48 tried it. He ended up doing his whole bike.

Bug splats I always remove immediately.
The longer they sit (especially in the Desert Sun) the harder to get them off.
But
Regular cleaning?
Well when the "black" looks more like metallic Brown, then I clean him up :D

Many do, but I don't! I bought my Spyder to RYDE, not show off! Bugs and dirt add character!

my avg is 5 good size bugs a night. & like I tell my 4WD buds, why have a Jeep with no mud on it?! Your not going to a wedding every day, get to use vehicle like it was intended. Show cars (trailer queens),are on the other side of the rope for a reason. :lecturef_smilie:

Since I'm basically a lazy guy... :opps:
My Spyder gets a good bath only when I really can't see through the "bug carnage" that's on the windshield!

I'd much rather ride; than wash!

I usually wipe down down the Spyder after (almost) every ryde. I find that the bugs come off quicker when removed sooner. My routine includes the use a soft cloth and either Lucas Slick Mist or water in a misting bottle for a quick wipe down. It only takes a few minutes (5-10 min) and for me it is relaxing. I also enjoy the extra time with the bike and is part of the whole experience. The only time that I use a bucket is after a ryde in the rain, then she gets a detailed washing.
My military experience and training makes the routine feel normal for me as I would never fire a weapon or take a vehicle out of the arms room/motor pool without proper after operations maintenance and cleaning before being put away for the evening!

I keep a can of Plexus and a microfiber cleaning cloth on board, mostly so that I can clean my windshield/faceshield if bug splats/dirt begin to reduce my visibility. However, it's a remarkably effective cleaner for the bodywork, as well, so it also comes in handy to remove big nasty bug/road tar splats from anywhere else if I want to get them off before they bake on.

Otherwise, I just do a thorough cleaning once or twice a year, depending on where/how I've been riding it.

Lazy cleaning

I'm a basically lazy old fart.
I give my 12 year old daughter $10, a bottle of Simple Green for the body, and a squirt bottle of Hydrogen Peroxide for the windshield and say,"have at it!"
She turns up the radio in the Garage and
VOILA! Snoopy Sparkles!
