• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

BRP's chat - What a waste of my time

You've had better luck than I have with the dealer's part supply. I had to order my first oil filter from Magic Man to do my first oil change. The dealer has never had all three (both crush washers and filter cap O-ring) parts at the same time and it took them 1 month to get the exhaust gaskets from BRP. I only partially blame this on the dealer. I think they just don't keep enough stock on those crush washers and O-rings. The exhaust gaskets and the oil filters were ordered by the dealer but they took a long time to come in.
:agree: Same experience, in general. BRP seems to be lagging in this department...and I think some dealers magnify that problem, although yours and mine seem more to be at BRP's mercy.

Some owners make the problem worse. My dealer ordered several sets of filters, rings and crush washers and because of reports of shortages, some guy came in and bought six sets. They reordered, but a few were left waiting. Reports of shortage sometimes contributes to the shortage. Unless the dealer limits the number you can buy, some will hoard them. Also very surprised by the 4,500 US sales number. I thought it was about double that based on production figures.

Scotty, I wonder if BRPjunkie is kind of fessing up about running around to the Michigan dealers and buying all available sets of O-rings, crush washers and oil filters so he isn't missing out during the reported shortage.... :joke: :D

:dontknow: Don't know who it was, but it wasn't me. Maybe it was just a dealer story to explain why I had to reschedule my first oil change because they didn't have any filters. I wish I was riding enough to need six filters a year. Since I'm just at 2,600 miles, I only needed one filter for the first oil change. My local Sea Doo dealer carries the BRP 5W - 40 oil and says he can get the filters and other oil change parts since he can get into the BRP parts system.
