BRP Warranty Warning

Spider-man

I bought my 2017 F3T on 9/1/17. I got my warranty card in the mail yesterday. All looked fine, except for a couple of misspelled words (rodster? come on BRP!) until I got to the last line. The letter stated that I had the factory warranty plus an additional BEST warranty, which was part of the Yellow Tag promotion that was going on at the time I purchased. However, the last line stated that both expire on 12/15/19. I'm no math major, but that's not 3 years from the date of purchase!

I emailed BRP customer service, and they asked me to PROVE I was promised this warranty by providing a bill of sale showing the warranty!! I sent them a copy of the product delivery sheet that states that the warranty is for 3 years, along with a screenshot FROM THE BRP WEBSITE showing the promotion details.

I'll let you know how it turns out, but as you might guess I'm a little pissed off that I have to do this.

Gotta say....

Sneaky....:lecturef_smilie:if you didn't catch that it could be a hassel on down the road....Seems you should not have to prove it at all...jmo:gaah:

Then BRP can't figure out why they haven't sold enough bikes. This is not going to leave a good taste in your mouth. Come on BRP, step up and be a man.

Was it a dealer demonstrator unit? The warranty then starts when first registered as a demo. Not date of purchase.

My letter is OK

Interesting! I got my letter the other day, my 2017 RT limited being purchased on 9/4, and its ok, with an expiration of 9/4/2020.

Spider-man, It must be very frustrating to pay for the BEST warranty and being asked for a proof when the expiration date is wrong. I would say the dealer made an error in the paperwork submitted to BRP.
Mine came with the BEST expiration in year 2022 as it should suppose. Good luck and let us know

I never received anything from BRP for my best warranty, called today and BRP said I was covered and they would send out the warranty card and paperwork, would take 4 to 6 weeks, must be sending it by pack mule 😂

Ride safe!

They do take sweet time, you will get it though - on a letter size paper, you rip off the BEST warranty card... I laminated mine.

What I didn't get is the papers for registration from my dealer and had to go to the BMV w/o it - got another temp licence plate for another two weeks.
At the end it all worked out.

ALWAYS Save ALL your paperwork in a place that you can find it anytime it is needed. Also, read the fine print. It really pays off.

Good going on this one! Keep their feet to the fire!

Somebody's error in paperwork. Give BRP a chance to fix it. They will. Lots of other good advice about preserving all paperwork.

I would have gone back to the selling dealer (The people who took all your money) and told them THEY have a problem to fix.

A little clarification is needed, I think.

It sounds to me like the original discussion was about a "deluxe" factory warranty......and NOT about an extended warranty.....RIGHT ??

I too got an extended 3 years at what I thought was a good price, from a "3rd party" company.
It appears that I get NOTHING from the company that actually provides the actually warranty service, including no detailed contract with a list of what is and is not covered. This makes me more than a little nervous.

I plan to investigate it further as time permits but my dealer assures me that this is "normal" for this company.

This happened to me ....

Was it a dealer demonstrator unit? The warranty then starts when first registered as a demo. Not date of purchase.

When I bought my 2013 RT in Feb 2014, BRP was giving an extra 2 years extended BEST warranty with the deal. In July this year, I found out that my warranty ran out in Sep 17. I discussed this with the dealer and was told that even though my bike was not used as a demo bike, it was in fact listed from BRP on the shipping paperwork as 1 of 5 Demo bikes shipped and the warranty started when it shipped. I am fortunate to have a great dealer (Reno Powersports, MO) who made good my extended warranty by purchasing an additional year for me on their dime.

I recommend the OP speak with their dealer.

Hmm, I didn't get any warranty card in the mail at all. I bought mine at the end of July, with 5 years total warranty. Guess I'll message the dealer first, and go from there.

Thanks for pointing this out!
