• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. BRP Updates, Hindles and Performance

I'm hearing varying stories of poor performance after updates on Spyders with Hindles and/or adding Hindles after updates. Here's my dilemma...and you guys always give me great input...my Spyder has had all the updates, fixes, etc., and, it's running great. I do have a nice used Hindle that I want to add, but, I'm wondering if I should leave well enough alone or risk changing the current "tune" which seems to working well.

Your thoughts ?

. . . . . your Spyder is updated and everything is just grrrrrrr8! You have heard and listened to "varying stories" that Hindle mufflers cause poor performance. But, you want to add a used Hindle muffler to your Spyder and you want the forum to talk you into it or out of it. Right?

OK, I will recommend that you do it. ( this is the talking you into it part )
If you have problems, don't like it, find out it is defective, I recommend you take it off and put the stock muffler back on. ( this is the talking you out of it part )

With this approach, you get the best of both worlds. Or am I missing something?

:ohyea:Put the hindle on after the updates. Runs way better, picked up more HP than i losted after the update. I did not disconect the battery. Man what a great sound real throaty and nice sound on the deceleration:ohyea:

Love the Hindle! Great sound, great look, and less weight (40% less than the stock exhaust). It's supposed to add 4HP, as well. Can I honestly say that I notice the increase? Not sure.

Plus, I got mine for $429 delivered from an authorized BRP dealer. PM me for the details, if interested.

Thanks for the feedback, each of your realworld experiences will help me going forward. Thats the type of sharing that is helpful and useful. Unlike one that was condesending and patronizing.

Again, thanks for some real help,

My Spyder, with the Hindle, JB, and ESI Green air filter runs great after the up-date. There was a little rough running right after the up-date but now after some miles, a little JB tuning and 91 octane fuel this thing runs like a scalded cat. I am very pleased with the performance.nojoke

I like my Hindle, and wouldn't have the Spyder without it or some type of aftermarket exhaust. That said my dealer relayed to me, after getting off the phone with BRP, that they said if I wanted my Spyder to run right to put the stock exhaust back on it.

testing testing- i am having trouble posting from my home computer. hindle and juicebox great combo!

I got the update and have a hindle...the bike runs great...I am now just going to start playing with the juice box again.

I haven't seen any negative effects from the update...my steering was fine before and is fine now...

I had ESI's risers put on...what a difference!!! No more vibration...

Was the Hindle on yours when you got the update? I've got the update but have yet put my Hindle on. I don't have the JB so I can't do any fine tuning if I do the Hindle. I can go back to stock of course, I just didn't want to go thru the exercise if it's been proven to not be a good idea.

You're right about the risers. I was going to get the Throttlemeister because it acts as weights against vibration. don't need it now, I just added the ThrottleBoss to my Iso Grips and it's perfect.

I have the Bruce Fabrication exhaust, JB and ESI Green Air Filter. The JB is set to Lamonster's suggested settings at the time of the steering update. At first it would surge between 28 to 39 MPH, but as I put more miles on it, it is settling down. I think as I get more miles, this will improve even more, but would be interested in JB settings that might be even better. At higher speeds, it runs great.

I installed a hindle and noticed increased performance. Only issue is sealing. I've had to daub muffler putty on the connections to stop the leakage. Love the sound!!!
