BRP UltraSport Windshield & Side Panel Trim Kit vs. Akio Technologies CF versions...

Akio Technologies appears to have a nice new Carbon Fiber line of goodies for our Spyders. And, since, I have been looking at buying the BRP UltraSport Windshield, and possibly the side panel trim kit, I happened onto these products.

The Knee Guards are a 4 piece kit. And, as you can see; double sided tape is utilized along with the torx screws. These look nice. But, not so sure about the mounting with tape.

I like the Akio Technologies products, replaced already the NMN 990/SM5 handlebar inserts (turned yellow after 4 months ?!?).
For the BRP Panel Trim Kit/Knee Pads I used Amazing GOOP to glue the rubber gasket:

Knee Guards

HI Greg, I have had the knee guards about 6 weeks now. they were the 1st thing I bought extra for my :spyder:easy to put on, looks good, no complaints. JUST HATE THE COLD WEATHER, also 1st bike:clap:

Good idea on the GOOP! So, you're using the BRP Side Panel Kit. Any other issues? Someone mentioned warpage.

Are you referring to the Akio Technology Knee Guards? Or; BRP?

There working out great got rid of BRP do to gasket problems and warping they blend right in and look great so I give AKIO Tech a :2thumbs::doorag:

Price is okay. I might be interested in those knee protectors.

I ordered the AKIO Technologies Carbon Fiber Console Inserts. And, I'll probably get the AKIO Knee Protector (side panel kit). But, I'm going with the BRP Black Ultrasport Windshield. I found it for $110, locally.

you will like the knee protectors easy install work them on good with a hairdryer or real fast passes with heat gun its 3m adhesive so they adhear real good :thumbup:
