• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

BRP Trailer Hitch Torque

Does anyone have the torque setting for the small nuts that hold the hitch mounting plates to the hitch. I have looked in the Service manual and the installation instructions that I have and neither provide that information.:sour:

Not sure if yours came loose like mine did. My tech didn't find any spec, either. He just snugged them up until there was no movement. These go through the rubber bushings and squeeze part of the urethane bushings, so don't get carried away or you will loose the shock absorbing capacity of the hitch.

RT hitch

I will have to go look at mine as I did not see any rubber or urethane bushings when I removed the U channel to install the hitch. Just nylock nuts and shoulder bolts. Closer examination tomorrow.

Why did you remove the U-channel? Next time read the instructions. I hope you did not lose the bushings out od the swingarm.

Hitch bolts

Hitch was assembled but there was no way it would slide on swing arms. Could not spread the U channel enough. Unbolted the right side, slid the left side on then the right side making sure that the brake and sensor wires were not interfered with. Installed the through bolt, washers and nut then snugged it up. Now using C-clamps to compress the U-channel enough to install the two bolts on the right and the tighten them up. Yes, it was a BRP hitch and wiring harness. I do not remember seeing any rubber parts, although the urethane bushings may have remained in the U-channel. I will look at left side tomorrow to see if these parts show up there.

Ditto here, except I did not totally remove the bolts just loosened them enough where it gave me the wiggle room needed to slide the brackets over the rear axle nut.

The rubber bushings (with steel sleeves) are located in the center of the urethane bushings. The bolts pass through the center of the rubber bushings.
