• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

BRP tech worked on Spyder today

I thought it was "win one for the Gipper". :dontknow: :D We need to rent a copy of "Knute Rockne, All American" for BajaRon.

This entire situation is getting ridiculous......:gaah:

If you're not having or have had steering issues, why in the world would you demand that BRP install a part on your Spyder THAT DOESN'T WORK????

A few (out of thousands) have had some steering issues. BRP is trying to correct it. I'm not confident that THEY know what the cause is/was yet. They attempted to replace Smylinacha's DPS unit the other day. The new one DOES NOT WORK. (Along with Pitmon's in FL). No one seems to know why. (which REALLY inspires confidence) Is this the part you want on your Spyder?

The Shi++y Steering Club is not one I'd recomend to those not having issues. If it ain't broke-don't fix it. Just enjoy your Spyder.

BRP is very aware of the steering issues, and is working towards a resolution. There have been a slew of reports to the NHTSA recently. Something will have to be done. Don't get caught up in the hysteria.....:doorag:

When they said laptop batteries were causing fires I didn't wait for mine to catch fire, I went to get a new battery before it happened. Maybe that is how he was thinking??? Not necessarily that he wants a new DPS but maybe whatever part they determine is the problem.

Anyway, I hope it is resolved quickly, I want mine back now that I have more time to ride. Besides that Lamont may need to change Smylinachas name to cussinacha

I just don't know what to think, I know the tech told me that he put two different ecm's in mine the day they worked on it to try and make it work. It was showing codes but would not reset, none of them. My original was not showing any codes at all. My bike was fine before they changed the programming with the first update, therefore I am leaning towards a software problem. I just don't know, wish I had never gotten that first update tho... maybe I ran thru a puddle of gremlins :dontknow:

Anyhow on a more serious note, only a few of us are having problems, if you aren't by all means be careful, enjoy your spyder, and get out and ride because I would be if I could. :2thumbs:

I give up :dontknow: Fall is my favorite time of year and I'm not in a good mood.

Easy man...just meant that the part that fixes people steering, I hope we all get it and just not if you have a problem as this COULD happen to anyone. Example, when I went to dealer for 2nd update he told me BRP only wants dealers to do it if they had a problem(now I'm glad they didn't). To be honest I am having a hard time enjoying my spyder as this to me is a serious issue. I have a family and do not want to be riding one day and veer into a lane I should not be going into. Just very concerned thats all...didn't mean to upset you with the questions. To be honest with you in the back of my mind I keep thinking of the older lady that died early when I believe she steered into a tree I think it was, can't stop wondering if this issue was involved. Probably wasn't but you know how the mind works.

Nah, he's not upset - I think we are all just concerned and bummed out. Just like you said - we've all got lives outside of ryding and we want to keep it that way. So that being said, Safety #1. I guess I've just ranted alot. I should be grateful my Spyder is getting looked at along w/ others. So, maybe they will find something in one of our Spyders that actually makes sense and then everyone will feel better. Right now, it's like a giant puzzle.

......

I just think that demanding a fix (when we don't know what the trouble is) on a Spyder that isn't exhibiting the steering issues, is only helping to fuel the panic......
I agree...definitly only want a fix if it is determined that they have found what is causing ALL/MOST the steering issues. Didn't mean to imply other wise. I'm sure with all they are doing they will find something:popcorn:
