• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

BRP STOPS Building Evinrude E-tech Outboard Motors Immediately

The Evinrude division has been a money looser for several years. Still a surprise. Sorry to the 650 people that are losing their jobs.

I was a marine mechanic for an OMC dealership, and Johnson/Evinrude was always a top-shelf engine. The lost foam casting and FICHT fuel injection were game-changers in the two-stroke outboard field. I am sickened by the loss of jobs, and feel saddened that there will soon be no factory parts for the millions of units on the market.

Coming from Minnesota originally, Evinrudes and Johnsons were on most of the boats in the early days. I had a Johnson on my 14 ft Lund. It made for a good combo.

That would explain my Evinrude dealer out here putting up the Mercury logo's.
Going to be quite a bit of this sort of thing going forward given the state of play I think.
