• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

BRP Sports Rack breakage

Cleaning up the Spyder today for winter storage and found this problem.

The bracket that holds the end of the rear wheel splash guard, and in my case the GIVI bag and signal light bracket was found snapped off.

Since it's makeup is cast aluminium I thinks the vibrations got to it, just like it did to my license plate frame. It's only five months old. I wonder if BRP will come good for it! Has anybody else seen this before? :helpsmilie:

Bummer!

The BRP racks don't hook up to that - so I'm thinking maybe you're using an aftermarket setup that attached to that area? Was it for a topcase?

BRP may be very particular about replacing it if a third party bag system was attached to it.

I agree the metal is cheap --- made in Vietnam if you can believe that!

I thought someone once said that BRP accessories that are installed by the dealer are covered under the Spyder 2 year warranty. :dontknow: Maybe that was just the Hindle. :dontknow: If you installed it and it's been on longer than it's own warranty, I don't think you'll get any warranty coverage. If you have a good dealer, I would talk to them about it and see what they can do for you.

The bracket for the Givi bags do attach at this point as well. This is the first run of brackets they made for the Spyder. Yes the dealer did install them so we will see about the warranty.
