• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

brp site is up w/ new models

:( Well, haven't read other posts yet, but I'm not impressed. Went to the site, takes a bit of waiting for loading. WHY didn't they make the engine bigger, more ccs or whatever to give it more umph?
Glad we took our journey on our spyder. I opened up the bag on the site and it only looks like 1/2 a bag worth of space. Maybe the thing in the bag is a lock box of sorts? Can't tell if it has any function. Curious to see one in person, don't wish to own. Too much GW and other bike looks kind of all rolled into one. Sure doesn't look worth the money.

Not to mention the extra weight with all the new up-grade, I did not see the dry weght?

Dry weight of the RT-S is 929lbs

I think they increased the compresion ratio: 12.2:1

It lost a couple of horses, only 100 with this one.

Gas tank is the same size 6.6 gallons (or could it be 7.1)

Hmmmmm . . . .

Lots of interesting little things.

I think this is one you have to see in person. Look a littler deeper. Get into the body.
New shocks? Upgraded suspension? Transmission?
Totally new air control.

I like the idea of an electric adjustable windshield.

Gotta see them in person.

Wonder if the windshield goes only up and down or up and down AND forward backward like the CHAD. Not a whole lot of info on the brp site.

Did you watch the video Kim? They show adjusting it.

Yeah I gotta watch it again - I only saw it going up and down. After all this waiting - it's like Chinese food - you look forward to it, eat a ton of it, feel full and then not much later, feel empty and hungry again. I'm tired and gonna go eat some ice cream:) I was very excited but sort of feel let down - I wanted a bigger engine.

But I'm happy too cuz I get to keep what I have and not worry about higher payments :2thumbs:

Eat a BIG spoonfull for me!

neither can a driver ,,,, i know evan had to customize his seat to sit back more .....i would say it's on same frame as original ....but i can say one thing ....BRP has been paying close attention to us and has designed the RT after what a lot of people have done to there spyders ...so i think they lurk .... and listen .... and if they thought for a minute we would do the milage that we do that version would have come out sooner ...
again ...just my opinion:coffee:
:agree::agree:

Me and the Boss are gone to have another Ice Cream Social tonight :roflblack:

Need to see one up close

I think BRP has made a good step in the evolution of the Spyder by responding to the "touring trike customers" at a competitive price point. Remember the Goldwing and Harley trike conversions are priced in the mid-$30Ks (admittedly with more power and capacity.)

I will need to see one and sit on one with a passenger to see if the two-up cruising riding position issues have been resolved. Handlebar changes, footrests may be OK, but I need to see/ride to find out. New look and goodies are positive improvements IMO, but by not offering larger fuel capacity, 6th gear, and more power/carrying capacity they still have a ways to go to motivate me to think about a change. Maybe a few more years, i.e. version 3.0 or 4.0 will be fully evolved.

If they plan to offer a full range of models from a base sport SM5 (at about $16K) up thru "loaded" SE5 touring (at $25K+)...they should appeal to a broader customer profile which will expand their market, and help their dealers to succeed. I think that is ultimately good news for all spyderlovers.

The matching trailer is going to be a big hit.

At the meeting now. The touring spyder is going to be a hit! The trailer is cool.
To my suprise no one has mentioned the new blue and white color for the present spyder they are good looking also.
Being a spyder owner is a good thing it's not every day a company will push the innovation at this pace.

Seems like buying a 2010 would take all the fun out of customizing it yourself and making it more personal.

Not sure about the snout, but overall, not bad looking! Think I'll keep mine though.

SoyderRT.jpg

Thanx for pic
most likely, I will switch to RT but will have to touch one first.
Nose is questionable but looks like a lot more air will circulate thru engine compartment. I hope Leo Vince, race air flow, and anti sway bar still fit.

Was there a deilvery date yet?

Well - for what it's worth---- I think BRP did a GREAT job with expanding the Spyder! :2thumbs::clap:

I think they will really have their hands full in selling these--- some great options and features! That new console is awesome!

Cruise, electronic adjustable rear , trailer package, etc....

WOW ---- they really did pay pretty good attention to what everyone out here was doing.

I won't be changing my ride for quite some time--- very happy how it is now.

Interesting that they increased the compression-- didn't add more gears or more fuel cap. I'm really curious what this beast will get for MPG--- gotta be worse than what we currently get.

Another PE release---- LOL----- I want # 3350 out of 2500 !

Really--- I think they have some nice stuff----- but.......

With more electronics--- comes more potential for problems. I fully expect a whole new set of 'issues' due to the extra complexity.

I also doubt these will be immune to many of the issues we have had--- time will tell.

BRP better get their act together as far as service and support since they are now becoming a 'real' player on the MC market.
