• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

BRP side boxes locked, no key, any ideas?

Bought a used Ryker with side boxes and rear box, key provided does not unlock any of them, rear box unlocked, dealer no help... what now? Drill out the lock? Obviously, that will destroy it, but I'm ok with that, anyone done this? What am I in for?

Nice dealer. A locksmith might be your answer to get access and a working key system going.

It was a trade in, the previous owner may have given them the wrong keys. They were sympathetic, but couldn't actually help... Is it possible to peel away the cap, drill the tumbler and remove it, then open the box and replace the lock assembly?

Here in Ontario Canada you can go to the DOT office and pay a fee to receive a Used Vehicle Information kit. If a private individual is selling a used vehicle they must provide it to the new purchaser.
In the package it lists all the previous owners and their address during their ownership. If there is such a thing where you live, it may give you the address of the previous owner and perhaps you could reach out to them about the key issue??

Yup, locksmith ~ I recently bought some cheap panniers for a bike that had no keys. My local locksmith opened them and made a couple of keys to suit.

The key doesn't fit the side or rear bags. What are you doing about starting the machine? Does the key fit the ignition?

It's a Ryker, so has a key fob thingie.

I drilled out both sides, which took about a minute. Both now open, will source replacement locks, or not... They just hold rain gear and some bungie cords. Thanks.

Oh, thanks. I guess my ignorance is showing. lol

No biggie, it is a Spyder forum... Ryker forum really quiet... Happy trails.
Slickster, if you add your Ryker info in your signature line (as requested below) it will make it obvious to others what you are talking about.
