• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

BRP R35 bag (Signal light extensions) locking hold broken

UPDATE:
Yesterday:
Long story short, yesterday I scouted a local welding shop, presented the issue and provided both signal light assembly - one with the broken receptacle, and the other that was working properly.

Today:
I dropped down to the welding shop, paid him for 1 hour of time, picked up my gear and installed it all during my lunch break!!! He basically built up the side that was torn away and commented on the type and quality of the metal material used in the rack system. Apparently the area that was damaged was very thin and bent easily. He built up the problem area with a higher grade material, then tacked it back into the signal light assembly where it was rounded out to fit the male connector and even notched it like the opposite side. So, it's a pretty close mirror image of the 'good' side.

Seems to hold great now!

This evening:
I hunted down many bumpy roads and rode an 80km stress-test ride and the bags and racks are still attached and no problems. Time will tell, but I think (and hope) things are ok.

I do want to thank you all for providing your input, ideas and suggestions!

THANK YOU. :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:
CHEERS!!
(sorry for the low quality cell phone picture)

Worst case scenario you could replace their 'quick release' 1/4 turn thingy just on that broken one--- with a hex bolt and nut. Just come up with a way to hold the nut inside the part that is on the bike all the time--- then use a hex bolt when you need to attach it.

Appreciate the note, thanks! I thought about a way to just drill a hole in the other side of the signal light bracket to install a lock nut and replace the male end with a large bolt. Would be a little less 'quick' disconnecting, but at least functional for sure. Thanks.

The weld job from above is holding and still maintains the 'quick-disconnect' features I like so much with these bags.

If it's any consolation to you, Dean, the Ind 7 racks are pretty flimsey, too. I had to do 4 different mods to mine before I got them right. The good news is this kind of thing is easily handled if a guy wants to "cut and try". Congrats on the fix, Bro.
