• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

BRP Needs Too-----

Provide "for Sale" the windshield attachment hardware kit as a separate item Until they design an acceptable windshield for the F3!!!
The Blue Ridge is grossly inadequate according to most who have to Buy a X-creen version to go on top for another $150-$180????
I will not pay $400 ONLY to have to shell out Another $150-$180 to make it decent???

Design an adjustable windshield like the ST?

Just Make the Hardware Kit available at a "Decent" Price so we can adapt our own windshield out of the hundreds Out There!!!nojoke

Oh, And I LOVE the F3!!!!:yikes:

I sure don't want to start an argument over windshields, because I really love the big old "barn door", that I get to sit behind on my RT...

But it might have a whole lot to do with how BRP sees the prospective market for the bike... If it's a cruiser; long distance trips aren't supposed to be the largest percentage of use. That would lessen the relative importance of a windshield...
(...just sayin'...)

Am I reading this correctly that if I (a) buy an F3 and (b) buy an aftermarket windshield that I cannot install that windshield on the bike without also buying some more parts from BRP?
Well, I guess I am not their target market. But, wait, long trips are a significant percentage of my riding!

I believe the hardware comes with the aftermarket windshields. At least it does with the Madstad.

When the :ani29: GS/RS first came out--they had that shorty windshield that was good for nothing--IMO. No parts for the early models. My dealer scouted out a place and we had windshields custom made and sized for our :spyder2:'s. Cost was a whopping $300 or so (2008/2009), but that was what I had to do.

I later put on Corbin fairings when they were available. Those were about $1,500 apiece. :yikes:

There seems to be a variety of shields for the F3, so one should be able to find something that works. As with any toy, those farkles usually end up costing.

I have a Cee Bailey's on my current ride. I think I read somewhere that they, and possibly CalSci, were going to make windscreens for Can Ams. Then there are the Madstad's and F4's. Well, that is why I am here...to learn.

BTW, where were your two signature photos taken? Somewhere in Alaska? The one in the snow almost looks like the top of Monarch Pass outside Gunnison, Colorado.

Both signature photos were taken within 20 and 50 miles from my home. These are pretty much weekly rides for me. The lake picture is Eklutna Lake in Chugach State Park and the snow picture was taken in May at Hatcher Pass, just north of Palmer AK. I treated the North to Alaska group to a ride to both locations.

A couple of FJR friends moved up your way several years back. Funny, I cannot remeber their names...but I would get it right on a multiple choice quiz.

Can you make out the words on the green sign below, akspyderman?

BRP should be able to design an adequate windshield for their own hardware which to me is better looking than the competition hardware?
Well CalSci told me they are Now in the prototype Stage so I guess I'll just wait it out !:banghead:

If Cal-Sci is joining the fracas; it's got to help with the available choices... :2thumbs:

Talked to Mark (Calsci Owner) yesterday and they are going to fit a prototype windshield to a F3 with Blue Ridge Hardware this week BUT---
They make windshields and will not be providing the Hardware Unless BRP Sells them kits (Highly Doubtful??)

So if you have the BR you might benefit BUT otherwise you have to buy the BR for the CalSci to attach to because they Do Not supply the Hardware.

BRP needs to either Design a decent windshield OR provide the Hardware kits at a reasonable Cost-They sold/Gave us Scoop vents for the RT NOW they need to provide a adequate solution to the F3 windshield problem!!!!!nojoke

F4 Customs F3 Windshields

F4 has four different options for the F3. They all come with hardware ready to mount. The shields that are available are the 28" Clear and Tint and the 32" clear and Tint.
We have sold quite a few of these already and the riders are very pleased with the performance.

Hang in there...!!

Joe public has an uncanning ability to come up with solutions to just about anything. Have seen some well made diy hardware and some shield makers are adding it. Figured this would be a problem when they launched the F3 without a shield and then canceled one they were offering...:banghead:
