There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. BRP HID headlights, wire harness

I have the BRP HID headlight kit that I have had for some time now and I may decide to install them, maybe. Saw somewhere that if I am also running the BRP fog light I need another wire harness that does not come with either kit, is this true.

CanAm wiring

my dealer gave me a 2011 Spyder catalog and here is what it says (pg 46 if you have one handy)
Combination harness: when combining the HID Xenon lighting system and the Fog Lights on your CanAm Spyder roadster, the following wiring harness is required. Spyder RS 219400089 ($99.99)

now i am not sure if this is in addition to the harness you already have, or just in replacement of, but i know you need the harness (my dealer ordered one for me and my :spyder:)

hope that helped some.

Correct--- that combo harness can power both the BRP HID's and the Fog lights as I understand it.

Since I have yellow covers over the headlights I might not installed the HID kit as it might not be any brighter and tired of pulling the bike apart, maybe I will sell the kit.

This does not sound logical. BRP lights should come with all necessary harness for it to work properly. Here is what I can sumerize:

BRP OEM head lights to BRP HID head lights - no harness change as the OEM one should just plug into the balast and power the HIDs.

Adding BRP Fog - a harness with extra outlets for powering fogs are included with the kit.

To change over to BRP HID with OEM fogs already installed, you just need to follow step one. Outlets are there already and harness should net be necessary.

I know the addition of stock fog lights to stock headlights comes with everything you need. The HID headlights come with new lens cannisters and everything you need for them as well. These are each individual kits. For some strange reason, perhaps the types of connections used with the HID kit, the BRP catalog states you need an additional harness in order to connect the HID headlights to the stock fog lights. I have no idea why it is that way, but that is what I have read and been told.

I just went with aftermarket HIDs in both spots and didn't have any problems.
