BRP Extended Factory Warranty

Hi All.

My 2015 F3S is approaching 2 years and my dealer called and asked if I wanted to buy three years of the extended warranty for $1080 (Canadian dollars). I know its nice to have if something goes wrong but like with my Honda vehicles, I have never had to take the vehicle back for any warrant after the 3 year factory warrant with all 5 new Honda cars and motorcycles I have owned over the past 30 years.

I am interested in knowing if you purchased extended warranty from BRP?
If so, have you used it? And for what?

Thanks in advance.

I am going to purchase an extended warranty because these bikes are very expensive to repair I do most of my maintenance but the parts are super expensive

My 2014 RT is under Best Warranty until February of 2019. I have over 118,000 miles on it and in June the radiators were replaced while I was at Homecoming for a cost of $50 Canadian. My Spyder is currently in the shop for a failed main clutch output bearing. This repair requires the engine to be pulled and the transmission removed but it will only cost me $50. In my case I got all 3 years of extended warranty for free but I'd be ahead even if I had paid for the coverage. I also look at the warranty as a plus from a sales standpoint. Wouldn't you prefer to buy a used Spyder that was still under warranty over one that wasn't?

I just purchased a 3 year best from imotorsports today for 749 us or 946 Canadian.
Doesn't matter where you buy it so get the best deal.

Low miles

extended warranties are probably good if you put a lot of miles on a machine. But are they of any value when you only put on a few thousand miles a year?

What Are The Options

I have a '15 RTL which is covered till 2020. I'm a low mileage rider(3500 miles/yr). Just wondering what the options are when your BEST warranty is about to expire?????
a. renew it,
b. find an alternative 3rd party, or
c. trade/sell it and buy a new Spyder

I also have the 2015 F3S and just purchased the 3 year extended warranty for 749.00 at my dealership. Shop around. Pitbull or Mega Mall usually have the best prices. Once you have a few quotes go back to your dealer and tell them what prices you are finding. They will usually match it.

Extended Warranty: a six of one, half dozen of another proposition. There are lots of factors involved.

:ani29:: Murphy's Law: If you don't have it--you will probably need it.
:ani29:: If you have deep pockets go for it.
:ani29:: I have only got the "free" version of the warranty. Never had to use it. Because of trading often, I have never put high miles on any (36,500) on the 2010 was tops. Am now approaching 27K on both the 2011 and the 2014.
:ani29:: If money is tight, shop around and wait for the current warranty to be almost expired.
:ani29:: Aftermarket warranties are usually not as good.

I have a "lifetime" BuRP warranty supplemented by a dealer add on. Added to my payment, it cost roughly $8 a month more. Cheep. Yes, I financed 8K of the new purchase price. At 2% interest, it's like free money.

Whats a "Burp" Warranty?? Does it pass gas ? :roflblack: Never heard of a lifetime warranty for a Spyder.
I always wondered whose lifetime, mine, yours, the dealers, or the bikes.
I have never heard of a lifetime warranty on a Spyder either, then if you do have a lifetime, why would you have to supplement it with something from the dealer????:dontknow:

My 2012 RT 18,000 miles has been out of warranty 3 years and No problems- Gear Position sensor and airbag done under warranty.
Thinking about the F3 as warranty expires Aug 20th? But the 1330's are pretty reliable. I put about 3,500 a year on Each Bike so I'm Not sure its gonna happen? Have to decide before it runs out But about $750-800 for 3 years sounds pretty reasonable?

Let me know if you do. I was told that we can't here in Florida.

You can't purchase a BEST warranty in FL, however, you can buy one from another vendor and it will be valid in FL. I bought one for my '12 thru Berts Mega Mall (a site sponsor). Glad I did, had to use it once. Haven't bought one for my '16 yet, but am still considering it. Dale
