• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

BRP Connect Survey

I got a email survey from BRP asking how often I used BRP Connect. It ranged from everytime I ride to never, but the big question they didn't ask, was why I don't use it.
Do you think we finally might get a fix?

I agree with you totally. I noted this weekend BRP had added some additional sites, mainly mapping. So I'm now 6 for 6 for having problems with the site. So why didn't they ask what needs improvement? My guess is the app may go away. I would rather pay for a Garmin app with lifetime maps that used the onboard screen. Until then, my Garmin XT will guide me along and the BRP app ignored.

The reason BuRP sent the survey out like this is because they really don't want to know the "why not" used answer. :banghead:

They just flooded the Spyder owners file. I got one and mine is 4 years pre-BRP Connect; how would I use it?

An intelligent person will not ask a question to which they don't want to know the answer.

Garmin did have an app just after the iPhone 3G came out (10+ years ago) They stopped supporting it last year because many are going cheap with Waze or Google Maps. TomTom app is still available but Sygic and Genius work on the phone just the same as Garmin. I have them all and paid way less than one Garmin.

I said I use it every time, I hope if they get too many people say they don't use it they won't put enough effort into fixing it!

I don't use BRP connect. I only use it for bluetooth audio from my phone. I use google maps for my directions and calls are linked to my headset. Actually the app interrupts calls by automatically changing from my headset to connect a few times which is very frustrating. I don't understand why it's not a touch screen 7"-8" with car play or android connect functionality? Chris

They should get rid of BRP Connect and implement Apple Carplay and Android Auto and be done with it. I rarely use it but I didn't get the survey!

The question on mine was how often I used the "music" & "map" app, not the app in general.

I put that I never use them.

I bought my 2021 RT Limited Dark in June. Didn't get the survey.

Got the survey. Have NEVER used BRP connect. I don't even have that kind of phone. A trac phone is what I use. So...no reply from me.

I tried it, removed it. Spare phone with no SIM connected to USB in trunk is paired to use the media player. Garmin 396 (DON'T BUT ONE!) thruogh a Bluetooth adapter to Aux IN handles mapping and navigation. Phone (with SIM) paired to headset to use as a PHONE.

Touch screen would be difficult to work with while wearing gloves as well as trying to touch it while going down the road let alone having a cop see you playing with it.

Apple Car Play/Android Auto requires a larger screen.

We don't need to be playing with it while riding.

If you think a cop would not pull you over for looking at your BRP screen while fiddling with your toggle switch, you are fooling no one but yourself, Flamewinger. That is just as distracting as using a phone. If you want to use BRPC, a phone or a GPS…. PULL OVER.

I don't use the App at all. I wish I could have given some useful feedback.

One thing when you turn the volume all the way down the bike it loses bluetooth connection with the phone, makes no sense... I've had to become very careful not to do that. Its not the App ,but its all related.

I got the survey, said I do not use it. I wish BRP would take a look at what Indian and HD are doing. Their screens now are great. Bruce
