• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

BRP CALLED ME TODAY ABOUT STEERING

A BRP representative called me today and said "they are sending out letters to all Spyder owners about the steering computer update but they encouraged me to take my Spyder to my dealer ASAP to have the update done before I get the letter..They also said ALL dealers have the new update available"

I have NOT had any steering issues (yet)

Anyone else get called??

They also called me this morning, 8.38 am to be exact and told me the same. I was just my the dealer last week where I got my GPS changed, guess I am going back rack real soon.

Don't know where they got my phone number from to call about the recall as I still have not gotten my black envelope that so many of you said you got in the last 2 week, I picked my Spyder back in March I guess dealer must have passed it on to them as part of the warrantee registration process.

They called me also, I had called them prior. I asked if they had any additional info on the possibility of fire issue. They had no info at this point.

Does the concern about steering issues apply to both manual AND electronic shift models, or only the electronic shifters?

System is the same on both so I'd say it would be a universal concern. Being nothing more than a software update it should be a "do it while you wait" fix.

Called my dealer today and was infrormed that they know there is a recall but have not been notified of the fix or update. go figure :gaah:

Got the call too

Yeah, I got the call about the steering software update too. Perfect timing for me. Took my SE5 in yesterday and they had recently received the software to do it. Mine was the first they used it on. I'd never had any steering problems anyway so hopefully now I'll never have the problem. I did get a fix for my squeaking brakes also. They sprayed them with CRC De-Squeak. Had done it to another Spyder a few weeks ago and said that that one hasn't squeaked since. And last but not least I finally got my 4" NMN Risers. Absolutely LOVE them.

Did not get a call. BRP Demo Team manager at Mid-Ohio also said emails went out. Did not get one of those, either. The recall letter was came in the mail, though, so everyone should receive notification real soon, one way or another, provided they are the original registered owner or else have sent in the warranty/ownership transfer form in the Operators Guide.

Have not received a letter, email or phone call. Wonder what's up with that?

Maybe I need to check my registered info with BRP as I am the original owner. Wonder how a person would go about that?

Got my letter yesterday.

Ron... sorry to tell you but the government owns your Spyder due to a little known provision in the stimulus bill.

.

Still haven't heard from BRP (letter or call) but my dealer called me this morning to tell me about it (already knew about it, just waiting for my 600 mile service (tomorrow) to have it done). I've only had it two weeks so I'm guessing I'm just not in BRPs system yet.

Steering

I got my letter in the mail today... Guess it's time to take her in.. I hope it's a quick fix.
