There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. BRP belt tensioner

Here are some pictures of the tensioner on my wife's F3. I couldn't get the whole thing in the picture because I would have had to take off the side chrome piece that the rails attach to and I didn't feel like getting into that tonight.

I didnt see any numbers on it which is not surprising for a prototype.

It is made of plastic and has a spring on the base of the tensioner to keep the tension.

I lifted it up for you to see it better.

I would say that SmoothSpyder and Baker is probably built tougher.

Thanks for the pic.

How's it working for ya?

I was talking with Len at Pitbull the other day and he said that BRP showed a belt tensioner at the dealer show for the F3 that will work on all F3's. He said it was pretty cheap to, under $50.00. That's good news for those that are bothered by the belt vibration. :doorag:

Thank U for the great news - hope they make a bunch on their first production run, demand will be high. Thank U BRP for a cost effective and what appears to be true solution  Can't wait to get one.

Thanks for the pictures. How bad were the vibrations before the tensioner? Were they more prevalent at certain speeds? How much tension would you say is on the tensioner, light, medium or heavy?
Thanks again.

There is not a lot of tension on the belt. I can easily lift it up as you saw in the picture. It seems to be enough to stop the vibrations though. My wife has been up to 85mph with it and she said she doesn't feel the vibrations that she had before.
She said that she had vibrations after 40 mph and they were pretty noticeable.

I'm glad that BRP is listening to folks!
Here's to hoping that they "Share The Love", with us RT owners also!

looks to be an awful small roller. any noise from it ? turning some rpm's !!
hope it will be a long life unit. hope there is an rt unit too.

Really hope BRP makes one for the RT.
A lot more RT's out there than F3, and they also have that issue, so would definitely make no sense on their part to only make for the F3..

Time will tell.

I think that the reason it is $50.00US is because it is plastic. Even if they do come out with one for the RT, I would not buy it. I already have enough plastic on my RT. I'm gonna stick with my SmoothSpyder that I have had for 3 years, and I have been quite happy with it. I would upgrade to the newer unit for the RT, rather than buying the one from BRP. I'm not an engineer, but I just don't see a plastic part that gets that much wear lasting as long as a SmoothSpyder or Baker Built.

BRP design Flaw

BRP should make the kit available as a RECALL, you can't tell me that they didn't know of the condition!!! design engineering flaw

Hi

just curious where they have the unit attached? The two aftermarket units attach to what I feel could be a weak point and require cutting body Tupperware...
