• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The Spyder is no longer an unknown. I still get :2thumbs: from some cagers, but the parking lot comments are "saw those on TV, but hadn't seen one in person", instead of "what's that???"

and there were two WTB ads for used Spyders on Craig's List - both of which I sent to our listings...

Does this mean we're finally mainstream??

I only drove our spyder a couple of mins on Saturday when I got my first  and then all day Sat when we stopped at friends house strangers were coming up to us saying that they saw the TV :f_spider: commercials but never saw one in person . We answered alot of questions on Sat and we had a lot of fun answering them:D

:agree:

This is the first year that people in all towns-- small and large have mentioned the TV ad to me...... the March Madness ads were really effective.

Seeing same transformation on the questions. We're definitely getting there, but until BRP can get their parts to the dealers in a more timely manner...Spyders will never be fully "mainstream."

IMHO of course. :D

Two weeks ago while bowling in my league the commercial came on. I pointed to the RS and told my team-mate that is the one I have, but only blue. He replied "you have one of those", and proceeded to ask several questions about it. Knew I should have kept my mouth shut :roflblack:

Yeah, people are seeing more and more Spyders...kinda stinks for those of us who really had the novelty for some time!

Oh well...

I will take more access to dealers, parts, service and riding groups over keeping our novelty.. I fully expect Spyderfest to grow from 350 Spyders this year to well over 500 next year and the advertising is helping that

I had the same experience on the way home from The Fest when I stopped for a fill up and something to eat. A women came up and said she had seen the ads on TV too but this was the first one she had seen in person and she just wished her husband was with her too. :D

I had the same thing happen when filling up in Illinois. A woman had seen 22 Spyders when traveling past Rolla and commented on how she liked and wanted one of her own. This was the first time she actually saw one in person and not just in adds.

The advertising program is definately getting attention. I have had a couple people say they saw the ad--when they came over to look at mine.

While I was waiting for a tow truck to show up (see http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?p=314335#post314335 ), many people pulled over asking me about the :spyder2:. Comments such as "I saw that on TV but never saw it up close" and "What kind of milage do you get with it?" came up. One lady said that her husband wanted to buy her one, so she'd use her SUV less. And one of the :hun: questions: "Does it steer from the front?":roflblack:

Spot on about delays in parts. Mines in the shop again waiting for parts... what a disaster brp is when it comes to shipping parts.

Otherwise I laugh like crazy every time i see the BRP commercial.. if people only knew what they got into before buying a spyder....
