There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Who has the extended warranty? Do you feel it's worth the cost ( about $900 )? I've had my RT Ltd 2 months, and I'm wondering if might be worth buying. Any thoughts... pros / cons?

3 year

i bought mine from burts mega mall they are listed on the home page, i figured with the heat issue something else might go bad on the bike. and it is transferable if you decide to sell the bike

I got mine from Burt's Mega Mall, too . . . and they were offering a pretty substantial discount for members of Spyderlovers.com . . . search for that post . . . they still might be doing it.

If you buy it from Bert's Mega Mall or Pit Bull, it's $749.

Here's the parts cost for a couple of parts that are known to fail: $824 - Throttle Body; $1080 - Vehicle Control Module; $690 - Instrument Cluster; $384 - LH Housing Switch; etc.

Like any other extended warranty, it's a crap shoot. Most people will never need it. However, if you need it the repair, parts and labor, will likely cost more than the investment. My feeling is that as complicated as the :f_spider: is, if you don't buy the extended warranty you should plan on trading every two years.

i got mine free with that 5000 off and a three year warenty i hope i dont need to use it.:2thumbs:

5000 off?

Sent from my Galaxy S3. I may have made a spelling error or may have some grammer issues. My fingers are way to big to type on this tiny screen!

I had the warranty as part of my deal.

With how much stuff costs on these and planning on owning for a long time, I thought it was worth it.

Thanks everyone. I did check with Bert's and the prices is $749 as someone above stated. I'm with most here, I guess, with as complicated a machine as it is, it's probably worth it. (Edit) I did get a good price on my RT ($4500 off) but I got no free extended warranty.

Extended warranty is no difference than insurance, just gotta weigh the cost. May never use it, but sure glad you had it if you do.

I also bought my warranty when i bought my 2012 RT-S SE5. I got a 4year warranty + the B.E.S.T warranty expires in 2016, Land Air in Vermont. Deanna777:thumbup:

money to burn

If you have money to burn, then go for it. All it is is insurance. I don't have any insurance. zero 0. Im a happy guy.

That sounds a little backward? If you have money to burn you can pay for things as they happen and not need insurance? :dontknow:

:)

If you are planning on keeping the :spyder2: beyond the factory warranty period--I suggest going for it. These machines can be very expensive to fix if something goes bad. It's good to have that extra insurance in the bag.

The extended warranties(service contracts) have paid off for my last two Harleys.

We were going to buy one for my wifes used Spyder but found out it's covered.
With all of the electrical stuff on these things,I think it's worth having.

I was glad I had it when my ECM failed two weeks after my regular warranty expired on my 2011 RS.
